"How was your date with Matt?"
It's been a week since Porter left, and I haven't heard from him at all. I wanted- needed to get a hold of him somehow, but all of my calls went to voicemail and all of my texts went unread. I didn't want to be clingy, because what right did I have to be like that? It's not like we were dating. We were just friends that occasionally made out.
My god, I was turning into one of those girls. This is what Porter Williams does to me.
Damn you Porter.
"Uhh," Angie's eyes shifted. "I don't know."
I cleared my throat and crossed my legs. It's Saturday night, girl's night, and Angie's been acting weird the whole time. Seriously, the whole entire time. Which is a really bad sign. Angie is a very awkward person so when you add more awkward to the situation it gets overwhelmingly awkward. Resulting in way too much awkward for yours truly.
I nudged her arm, "Tell me how it was before I beat the shiz-nizzle out of you."
"Matt was really nice and sweet," she laughed, twisting a strand of fiery red hair between her forefingers.
"But?"
"But I met somebody else," she shifted her eyes to look at me. From the look on her face I knew she expected me to freak out about it. A month ago I probably would have, but for some reason I felt different. In the span of just a month I felt like a completely different person. I paused the movie that played on her telly. I wasn't mad at Ang, but I was a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to her and Matt getting together. I know that before I was against it. He's such a playboy, but after the banquet I grew a greater respect for him. He could really care when he wanted to, and he was more responsible than I expected.
"Who?" I had no idea who she possible could have met in such a short span of time. Her date was only two days ago.
She shook her head, "You don't know him."
"Who?" I urged, my eyes turning into slivers.
"Traven Aplin."
Cue heart attack.
"Traven Aplin?" the name felt like poison coming off of my lips. "As in, Traven Aplin, the Traven Aplin that I hate with every ounce of my being? The Traven Aplin that is the biggest asshole in the history of assholes? The Traven Aplin that-"
"I get it Eves."
"That Traven Aplin?"
She really knew how to pick em'.
Angie scoffed, "Who else?"
I felt my bottom lip tuck into a pout, "Why Traven Aplin?"
She turned towards me more, "I didn't mean for it to happen Eves, please believe me when I say that it isn't something I want. He's been on my mind for a while now, and I just can't seem to stop thinking about him. Sure he's annoying and probably knows every innuendo in the history of the world, but he's also really sweet and I like to spend time with him. And he has a really nice body that I just can't stop staring at. It's like he's this wizard-"
Wizard?
"Ang," she stopped spitting out word vomit. "How in the hell is Traven Aplin a wizard?"
Angie rolled her eyes at me, "You didn't let me finish."
"Well then," I laughed. "By all means, continue."
"But now it's going to sound weird."
"It was sounding weird before, how it any different now?"
"You know what, fine. I will finish my rant even though it makes me sound insane." she glared, her face turning red and masses of her freckles slightly disappearing. "He's a wizard, because I can't stop thinking about him. It's like he put a freaking enchantment spell on me. Traven is annoying as freaking hell eighty percent of the time, but in that other twenty percent he's actually kind of sweet."
I couldn't help it anymore, I started laughing so hard I was falling off of the couch. Angie seriously did not just compare Traven Aplin, a really scrawny seventeen year old with hazel eyes and an afro, to a freaking wizard. This was just priceless.
I don't know why I found myself laughing so hard, but once it started I couldn't make it stop. I clutched my stomach and doubled over, the tears brimming in the corners of my eyes. Freaking Traven Aplin, the wizard. How the heck does she come up with these things?
"It's not funny," she crossed her arms over her chest. "And quite frankly, I don't like you anymore."
I bit my lip to stop the laughter from flowing out, "Help me understand." I let out a big breath, my stomach still tight from the laughing fit I was still trying to get over. "Why the sudden interest in this wizard of yours?"
She threw her hands up in the air in exasperation, "The hell if I know, he's a damn wizard for god's sake. He probably drugged my food or something."
"How would he possibly have drugged your food?"
"He was the waiter at the restaurant Matt and I went to," she picked a twizzler up from the counter and chewed obnoxiously on the end.
I tossed my hair over my shoulder as I tried to comprehend everything. So Angie went on a date with Matt, a very expensive date, at a restaurant that The Wizard- Traven, works at. Oh my, how very weird for Matt. "Did you like him when you went out with Matt?"
She tilted her head, "Uh, no... Yeah, no. I loathed him then, he was really ecky and annoying."
I nodded my head, "Yeah, I get you, ecky and everything."
Ang rolled her eyes, "Stop making fun of my choice of words."
I saluted her, "Aye, aye cap'n."
Angie stuck her tongue out at me childishly and grabbed the remote out of my hands. "I'm done with this conversation. I like Dean Winchester, the color pink, and Traven Aplin. Deal with it," she unpaused the movie.
I relaxed and tried to refocus on the movie. It was hard when Angie has more comedic and entertaining than the characters on the screen. "I've already dealt with it Ang. I'm happy you like Traven, even though that wizard chopped a big portion of my hair in elementary."
"You've got to forgive and forget Eves," she stared at the TV. "Holding onto the past isn't getting you anywhere."
A/N
Okay... So this chapter was a lot of a filler. xD I just felt like I really needed to update... It's not very good, but I'll try to edit it for ya'll. :)
Traven Aplin is going to be a big part of the story now. I hope you guys liked reading about Angie and Evey's relationship. I loved writing it. Angie is by far one of my favorite character... Who is yours? Please comment and vote! Don't be a ghost reader!
