Chapter Twenty Two - Eye of the Beholder

The five of us all went to Lucky Leons, so Aria could explain what happened with that boy we saw talking to her. We all got our coffee's and sat outside the shop.

"Well, he recognised the coat. That's what he saw at first and thought I was Alison. Vivian." Aria corrected herself

"When we noticed he didn't come back, he was gone." Emily said

"He was cute from the back." Hanna commented

"He was cute from the front too." Aria smiled "Under different circumstances. He's been in Florida for, like a year."

"What did you tell him, exactly?" I questioned my twin

"I told him that I was a friend of Vivian's  and that I hadn't seen her since she gave me the coat." she answered

"Can i see that number again?" Spencer asked and Aria handed her the piece of paper.

"Duncan Albert." she read out.

"He said he met her in Brookhaven?" Em inquired

"Yeah, in a book store. Couple of places down from that creepy doll hospital." Ria replied to our friend

"Whoever Duncan is, he's connected to Alison and what she wanted in Brookhaven." Spence stated

"How do we know he's not some guy she just flirted with?" Em wondered

"I doubt that." I sighed "Vivian was who she used when she was investigating." I summarised what I thought would have been going through Alisons head.

"She wanted A." Hanna toyed with her cup.

"And Duncan's apart of that trail." Em muttered

"I call him." Aria confirmed

"Sis you don't have to."

"Any one of us could have been wearing that coat." Em added

"But it was me." We were silent for a minute when Spencer stood up looking shocked. I turned my attention to where she was looking. It was Jenna and Toby, I glanced between them and Spencer. I already knew they were back Toby told me that they were waiting to see if the operation was a success.

"Spence?" I ask. She watches them go inside and then sits down.

"You knew he was back didn't you?" She turned her head to me. I bit my lip "I saw you get on his bike last night."

"Yeah." I admitted

"Why didn't you tell me, why not say something."

"Because he asked me not to. Or do you forget the lie I told him." she sighed and didn't say another word.

At school the next day Mona gave Hanna another phone because Hanna threw hers in water in an attempt to stop her mother on her A trail.

"It's really old like, six months, but it works pretty good for an antique. The number bills to my account, so your mom never has to know." Mona mulled out some moisturiser and gave some to all of us.

"Mona you are a life saver." Hanna thanked

"Well what's the point in doing something for someone, if it doesn't make you look good." I rubbed my hands together.

"I'm already number one on speed dial. Caio." she sauntered away leaving a small smile on my face.

"If only we could harness Mona's sense of entitlement we could light the eastern seaboard." Spencer commented and I chuckled
