It's dark in London tonight, as though every bit of light is holding its breath, hiding from the nightmare that creeps about. The freezing rain runs in torrents down streets and alleyways alike, but even that isn't enough to stop the monsters that frequent the area.
That's why I'm always here, crouched on a stupid rooftop watching a stupider girl gaze out her window.
Master is over there now, as he is every night. He hides in the shadows, afraid to come face to face with her. Yet he can't stay away, can never leave until she's safely in bed and asleep. With her blood... well, let's just say she's much stronger at night than he is.
"Tink? You up here?" Terry pops his head above the hatch, peering through the darkness before he spies the slight green glow where I crouch. "Maltis is starting to get antsy, so I was wondering if we can head back to base without Master? I'm worried he'll run out and fight some monsters."
I growl softly under my breath, wishing there was some way to talk some sense into Master. Night after night he drags us here without a care, leaving us hidden in this warehouse while he sneaks around like a stalker to see some girl. Not that he's even brave enough to talk to her.
Master says she's too old to be called a girl, but what else could one who dreams of rainbows and cupcakes and many other ridiculous fancies be?
Of course, that's probably why he's interested.
He's been chasing a way home for years now, but all the light and all the believing has gone out of this world. Except for one person.
For Master's sake, I pray that she is the one.
"Alright. You kids get to base. Shoot up the flare if there's any trouble." I shoo Terry off, settling in for a few more hours of watching.
Hopefully Master won't lose his shadow this time around.
