It's a chilly afternoon in September as the glorious rays of the sun surrenders to the darkness. The tall smokey silhouettes of trees in the park slowly disappears from the ground, and people chatter around, letting time pass by while they continuously walk through and fro. And I was just here, simply standing by the bushes beside him. Beside Shinichi.

Shinichi was a senior in my school. He had the brawn and the brains to win almost everyone's attention. Famous for winning the history quiz bee and dragging the trophy back from the annual inter-school football competition. Shinichi had the girls, either he wants them or they force themselves to him. He had it all. And I was just there, adoring his victories and facing his failures.

"Ryuu, are you okay? Don't tell me you got cold feet," Shinichi said, laughing at me as I feel a sudden gust of wind pass through. He had his charming smile printed on his face. "You do know that we just took Mari home right?"

I chuckled half-heartedly. "Your girlfriend seriously needs to take a break from spending all of her time with you. You got to be the most boring guy I've ever met."

"Boring? I made you two cry because of laughing at my face earlier."

"Yeah right, maybe she was just forcing herself." No, that was wrong, his girlfriend laughed her heart out as he tried to juggle four cups of ice at twelve thirty. She deserved him, and he deserved her charming laughter. Maybe it was just me being selfish of Shinichi again, or maybe I'm jealous.

"Mari could never make a fake laughter Ryuu!" He replied beside me, walking past a coffee shop in a street. It was dark, and the shadows were mean as they make their way to irritate my nerves.

"But even if she does, I don't care. She's my Mari, she's too perfect," he hastily got a gum from his back pocket and offered me one. I shook my head and continued to walk, slightly increasing my pace, because I don't want him to see me like this, torn and dying a little inside.

"Did you see how she looked at me when I got her that life-sized teddy bear? My god she looked like an angel. And her pouting lips when we passed her favorite dessert shop? She was so cute."

"Dude stop it."

"And her clothes were amazing today! It was cute with a little touch of sophistication right?"

"Stop it."

"Mari oh Mari, my beautiful girlfriend. She's just, simply her. Perfect."

"Shinichi stop it!" I shouted without any hesitation. I had to stop him. He was hurting me again, through words that directly stabs my heart. He didn't have a clue that he's killing me. I didn't want him to know. But that was before, right now, I just wanna let go of this emotion.

"Ryuu what's the matter?"

"Shut up! I had enough of you bragging Mari and her perfectness! I had enough of hurtful sh** that you've given to me! I. I had enough Shinichi!"
