Chapter 1: A Bad Morning

[ trigger warning, depression and self-harm]

(Gumballs POV )

"I really don't want to go to school today. " I said as I can hear my alarm clock. Darwin woke up and told me it was time to wake up. "You and Anais go ahead behind you guys in a few minutes Ok." "Oh, okay." He said with sweat going down his face.

'My God does he ever stop being lazy for once.' He thought as I flopped my ears down because unknown to him or everyone I can hear their thoughts every single day sense a couple years ago. They walk out of the bathroom as walk in with a fake sleepy look but when I shut the door I put on my normal face.

"Why do I have this stupid power if I can't even control it." I say to myself. "Where's my fucking special eye contacts, oh found them." I said as I put them in God I hate wearing these. I look in the mirror and see the fake sparks in my eyes. 'Ok time to put on that stupid smile so know one can get suspicious.' I thought to myself. I grabbed my black gloves and put them on when I heard."Gumball Watterson get down here and eat before the bus gets here and you and your siblings are late NOW," She shouted from down stairs. I go down stairs pretending to be my always goofy self as see mom and dad at the table.

' Why does he have to be so lazy I cooked breakfast and he doesn't show up on time. Sometimes I think he's nothing more than a disappointment.' She thought as she is eating her food. My ears flopped down because of her thoughts of me, but I still hold the smile so I don't so the pain. I eat my food fast so I can live the table and catch the bus. "Bye mom, bye dad will be back after school." I said with a smile. 'Not if you get detention again this week.' They both thought at same time. I felt my right ear flopped down a little before they both say, " Have a nice day kid's and stay out of trouble. "

[In Elmore Junior High]

(Anais's POV )

'Something off about Gumball that I can't put my finger on.' I thought to myself as I see him duck down with his ears flopped down like he thinks he got in trouble or something. " Darwin come here I need to talk to you. " I whispered. He got up and sat next to me waiting on to know what I needed. "What is it sis?" He asked. "Have you noticed how weird Gumball been acting lately, I mean look at his ears flopped down he's acting like he getting talk down to for nothing and what's with the black gloves?" I asked curiosity.

'Hmm, now that she mentions it he acting more like a weirdo then his goofy self.' He thought to himself and then I noticed Gumballs ears go down along with his shoulders. "Ok I see what you mean about that, he acts goofy but his body language says differently what's he hiding?" He asked. "I don't know but I will find out." I said.

[Time Skip To Miss. Simian Class]

(Carrie's POV )

"Hey Carrie are you okay, you've been staring at Gumball for awhile now with concern is everything alright?" Asked Darwin with concern on his face. "I don't know it's just something doesn't feel right about him and not in a scary way either," I said. "What do you mean he's still his goofball smiling self. " he said. "That's just it he's not, I know smiles and that's not it. It feels more like a fake smile like he hiding pain or something. " I said even more concerned.

I was about to ask him what's wrong but Ms. Simian came in and said. "Alright quite down now " she yelled. Everyone got quite so she could teach, but I was to concerned about Gumball to pay attention. ' I hope nothings wrong with you Gumball.' I thought to myself. But just as I thought that his ears flopped down again, what's the hell is going on?

Somethings not right no one saying anything but he flinched like someone just yelled at him. I don't know why but he is acting suspicious.

(Gumballs POV)

'Out of the kids in wretched school why do I have to be stuck with the worthless blue furry failure.' Ms. Simian thought to herself. That was it, that the two words I that hurt the most. I couldn't hold back the pain anymore, I raised my hand and I asked. "C..can I..I go to t..the bath..room?"I asked with a stutter trying to hold back the tears.

"Mr. Watterson I'm trying to give a lesson here the bathroom can wait." She said with a serious tone. I couldn't take it anymore more, I said one word that cough everyone off guard, "sniff..p..please?" I said with one single tear.

The room was quite for a second or two before Ms. Simian spoke up.

"Y..you can go Gumball." She said with a little concern in her voice. So I got up without saying a word and walked out the door. It took me four minutes to get to the bathroom, I walked in and locked the door. I walked to the mirror to see my self and I hated my reflection. I rolled my sleeve up to see all the cuts I had done to myself over the past months.

With the other hand I released my cat claw and started cutting.

'This is for being lazy ' CUT

'This is for being a disappointment ' CUT

'This is for being a weirdo ' CUT

'This is for being a worthless ' CUT

'AND THIS IS FOR BEING A FAILURE ' CUT

'I think I cut to deep on the last one but not to bad.' I thought to myself as I cleaned up the blood on the floor.

[RING RING RING]

That's good enough, I'll just go to the cafeteria and eat something. Hopefully everything will be alright for now.
