It's always been just me. By myself. Alone. Growing up my family never really even bothered to tell me happy birthday once in a while, and I was fine with it. But only because of one person. Ski; Ski has been my best friend since first grade; and on our first day of high school, our friendship grew stronger. The night before the first day, I had a sleepover at his house because his family loved me and I loved them. It's like I actually had a real family of my own. "Stella honey, it's nice to see you", Ski's mom exclaimed, "it's so nice to see you too Mrs. Rachel! Thank you for having me once again!" "It's nice to have another girl in the house once in a while" She teased. "Stella and I are going to hang out up in my room!" Ski yelled on our way up the stairs. Once we got into his room I sat on his bed and looked up at the little light up stars on his ceiling from when he was young. I stood up and went over to go see his book collection and picked up one of my favorites, just when he grabbed on to my waist with one hand and pulled my chin up to look at him with the other. "Ski you know I'm not ready for a relationship yet" I said to him. "I know, and I'm willing to wait for you; but that doesn't mean I'm not going to take advantage of you being here right now."
