part 1:Dark shadows

"It is said that blood is thicker than water it is what defines us binds us curses us" I remember in 1760 whilst boarding the ship my father saying "come barnabus" and as we were leaving I remember thinking "for some blood means a life of wealth and privilege for others a life of servitude" as I was boarding I turned round and saw a girl who didn't seem normal it seemed as though I had done something bad to her and she wanted her revenge that's when I heard her mother then say "Angelique how many times have I told you not to stare at him, remember your place".

"when I was but a boy my father took us to the new world to expand the Collins family empire we brought English industry to the wilds of Maine and built a fishing business the likes of which America had never seen"

~1 year later~

I remember my father telling me as we were walking by the docks "A man should take pride in what he builds but remember barnabus family is the only real wealth hm?"

I remember that as our business grew the town of collinsport grew with it and we decided to put down permanent roots

"We spent 15 years building our beloved home, COLLINWOOD. But unfortunately not everyone shared in our family's success.

This girl who I had met seemed to be nice and friendly but then I realised she wanted more than friendship she said to me "let me hear you say I love you Angelique I want you"

there was a long pause and a moment of realisation before I said to her "Angelique.... I'm sorry my dear but you would be hearing a lie"

little did I know but that sentence would ruin my life for the worse because Angelique was actually a witch that had cursed the whole Collins family and especially hated me so she killed my parents and cursed a spell on me that I would never know about until I found my one true love.... Josette before all of that I was convinced my parents death was no accident I then became obsessed with dark magic and ancient curses as I researched more into this I found a legend claiming satans real name was Mephistopheles but even then in the depths of my grief not all was darkness for then I had found my one true love Josette who was the only person who made me want to carry on with my life and she was the only person I cared about she was perfect and caring in every way she would say such things as

"promise we will be together forever"

and I would reply with

"god as my witness Josette...I swear it" and every word I ever said to her was true and everything bad that ever happened didn't matter as long as I had Josette but unfortunately out of all the servants I could have spurned and all the hearts I could have broken I got the servant with the secret this was ultimately when I caught her in a spell against me and figured she was a witch who was plotting against me and every lover I shall ever come across but by the time I caught her in the act it was too late I remember the spell starting with "if he doth another choose to lend his heart an eye the magic shall slighted use so all he loves will die "This witch was the girl I had met multiple years earlier called Angelique when I caught her in the spell it was too later as my beloved Josette had already helplessly wondered off to widows hill where many a despondent soul had leapt to their death.

I ran and ran until I couldn't breathe running and running panting through the dark leaves and bushes and I felt as if I would never make it but I carried on running like my life depended on it like I was running away from a vicious lion about to hunt me down but no I was running after the love of my life
