Innocent Bystander is a story told from the first-person perspective of Alice Simmons. Other than the prologue, told from the third person limited perspective of Nolan Holloway, we only get Alice's side of the story. This is why I've decided to write out some extra scenes that would have made it into Innocent Bystander had the story not been told from Alice's first-person perspective. These scenes will show:
- A One-Sided Enemies-to-Lovers subplot
- How Gabe met Katie
- The friendship dynamics between Gabe, Nolan, Aaron, Brian, Nick and Carter
- Development of characters who are only present during one or two chapters, such as Carter, Brian, Josh, Brett, Joey, Jill, Charlie, the Arby's employee, and the two kids present with "Karen" - whose real name is Sheryll, by the way.
- Nolan's backstory
- The events that occurred the day Brian died
- And a heck of a lot more
I will also be posting author's notes with my thoughts on the characters, why I wrote some things the way I did, etc. Please enjoy!
