Prologue
I like tonight.
Let me rephrase that... I like nights.
“Please?”
I scanned my things then to the opened gates, welcoming for my arrival. At times occasionally, I could carry my luggage myself, but not now that I barely could lift an eyelids.
New school. New environment. New people. I don’t like new. How did I get in here, again? I winced. Right. Expulsion because of some petty fight. Damn, right. Petty.
I heaved out a heavy sigh, and before I could even knock, the door suddenly open its own.
Kumunot ang noo ko. I was expecting my cousin. Not a petite girl in her pajama, yawning and stretching her hands.
“Who are you?” I asked, frowning.
The petite girl covered her mouth. Next time, I should bought him coffee.
“Are you...” My brows shot up when she surveyed my face down to my feet. She then gasped. “Perhaps the Zafiyah?”
My blood promptly boils.
“Yes,” hesitantly, I answered because I am Zafiyah. “How do you know my name?”
“Of course, I know who’s my roommates are.”
“My roommate is my cousin.” I gritted my teeth. “You are not my cousin.”
She smiled still. “Yup! Because I am your new roommate. Your both roommates!”
I sighed.
“Where’s Callister?”
“Don’t know. Probably still trying to renovate her room...” Nagkibit siya ng balikat. “Oh, look at this boxes.”
“Tati, who’s that ba? Ang ingay naman!” I heard a familiar voice.
Napatingin ako sa sala. Sobrang kalat.
"Nice try, Tasha! Tomorrow pa ang arrival noon, ‘no!”
Pinigilan kong umirap.
“I already ate. Thank you.”
“You can have a sleep naman sa kwarto mo. Left side sa ‘kin, middle kay Calli, and yours is the right one.”
Pinikit ko ang aking mga mata. “Okay.”
