The number 17 car pulls into the pit road before coming to its pit stop.
"Jack, you realize you got this in the bag, right?" Buddy Hubbard asks Jack Toretto as he unclips the net on Jack's window. Jack takes the water that his daughter, Roselyn, offers him. "Season's wrapped up, man. Doesn't matter where you place."
"I'm telling you, I got intermittent miss," Jack says as he hands the water back to Buddy. "For the last two laps."
"On it!" Buddy says before turning to one of the pit crew members. "Get those plug wires!"
"Jakob! Now," Jack yells at his youngest son, who happens to be the crew member that Buddy was yelling at. Jakob nods before raising the hood of the car as Dominic, Jack's oldest son, rushes over.
"Hey, Pop," Dom says as he leans against the window after playfully shoving Roselyn, who glares at him.
"Tell me what you see Dom," Jack orders as he looks at his son proudly.
"Got an oil spill going into turn two," Dom explains as he begins to list everything that he has seen. "Bell's driving safe. Corbin's got a sponsor in the stands, so he's pushing it. You got a real problem with car 23."
"Linder," Jack says with a nod as he has seen it too. Roselyn begins to argue with Linder's crew, who are two spaces back. "Hey! Leave it. He's just pissed because I got that spot in the Busch Series next season, not him. Life's got no shortage of guys like Kenny Linder."
"You're good!" Jakob tells him as he closes the hood before patting it.
"It's not about being the stronger person," Jack advises his son and daughter, who is clipping the net back. "It's about being the bigger one."
Jack takes off back onto the track as Linder follows behind him before bumping into the back of another car.
"I swear to god, this guy," Roselyn says as she shakes her head while watching the race before handing Dom, his headset.
"Pop, turn two, turn two!" Dom reminds Jack as Roselyn walks over to Jakob.
"Got it. I'm walking him in," Jack says as he drives high on the track. Jack quickly drops lower on the track as he sees the oil spill that Dom had mentioned, causing Linder to drive into it which causes him to slightly lose control and bump into the wall. "Tell me what you see, Dom." Dom quickly moves to where he can see the rest of the track.
"The golden child hard at work," Roselyn says as she rolls her eyes, causing Jakob to lightly smile.
"He's gonna come at you for that," Dom says as he keeps looking between his dad and Linder. "Get ready on your left."
Linder drops to Jack's left while Jack looks down at his dash as it begins to make noise. Linder bumps into Jack, causing his car to turn before connecting with the wall as it catches fire. The rolls as it is hit by another car while Dom rips his headset off before running towards the track with Buddy right behind him. Buddy grabs Dom, holding him back from being ran over as he cries and yells for his dad.
"No! Let me go! DAD!!" Roselyn yells as Jakob holds her back before she buries her head into his chest as she cries.
"You okay, love?" Owen asks as he walks up behind Roselyn, causing her to jump since she was spaced out while remembering her father's death.
"Yeah," Roselyn responds as she folds a pair of her shorts before grabbing a hanger for a shirt as she does laundry. "It's just the anniversary of my father's passing."
"I'm so sorry," Owen says as he pulls Roselyn into a hug before her phone starts to ring.
"Hey, Letty," Roselyn replies on she answers the phone before Letty fills her in on what has been happening with the team.
"What is it?" Owen asks as Roselyn ends the call before going to grab her go bag.
"The team has found my brother," Roselyn answers which causes Owen to look at her confused. "Dom is not my only brother. Jakob left us in the rear view a long time ago. But Mr. Nobody had arrested Cipher before Jakob took down the plane and extracted Cipher. So, I am going to make sure my brothers do not kill each other."
"Call me if you need anything," Owen tells Roselyn with a sigh, knowing how much her family means to her. "Be safe."
"I always am," Roselyn responds with a smirk, causing Owen to chuckle.
"I love you," Owen says with a smile before pulling Roselyn in for a kiss. "Come home to me and Ivy."
"I will," Roselyn says with a nod before she and Owen go to Ivy's room, so Roselyn can tell her that she is leaving. "I love you both so much."
On the private jet, Roselyn has another flash back:
The crowd begins to cheer as Jakob gets out of his car and Roselyn gets out of hers while Jakob soaks in the cheers from the crowd.
"Who wants next? I said, who wants next?!" Jakob questions as he looks around at all of the racers, causing Roselyn to roll her eyes at his cockiness.
"I got next," Dom announces as he looks over at his brother, causing his siblings to look at him in shock.
"Dom!" Roselyn yells as she runs over to her brother before pulling him into a hug that he returns.
"Dom," Jakob says as he looks at his brother still in shock. "Well, when'd you get out, man?"
"I said I got next," Dom repeats as he walks closer to his brother which causes Roselyn and Mia to share a confused look.
"Come on, Dom. You don't want to race me in Buddy's old Charger," Jakob says as he steps forward while motioning to Dom's car. "No, it won't even be close." Jakob points over at his car. "My mustang? With all the mods that Rosie and I put in it?"
"Car don't make the driver," Dom responds as he slightly rolls his eyes while he walks over to his brother before speaking in a whisper so that only Jakob will hear. Jakob thickly swallows because he doesn't know what to say to Dom's accusations while Roselyn worriedly watches Jakob's facial expressions. "Now let's race."
An all clear of cops is given as Dom and Jakob move their cars to the on ramp that leads to the bridge where they will be racing. Letty looks at the two cars worriedly as she walks between them with a flashlight in hand. Letty moves the flashlight to rest on her shoulder. Each brother revs their engine before Letty turns the flashlight on.
Jakob and Dom both take off in wheelies before Dom takes the lead. Jakob quickly accelerates, getting beside Dom as they move onto the bridge. Jesse runs across, spray painting a finish line as the crowd clears out of the way. Dom starts to get in front of Jakob, causing him to hit his NOS before speeding ahead of Dom. Dom hits his NOS before speeding in front of Jakob. Dom crosses the finish line before him. Dom comes to a stop while Jakob continues to drive, causing Roselyn to run to her car to chase after Jakob.
