Chapter 9 - Farewell Part I ' Upheaval '

3 December, Day of the Farewell
10:23 a.m.

Our Farewell day was here. Everybody came to the party. There is going to be so much fun, we all are going to enjoy it so much. Everyone is wearing fancy clothes and are very happy and excited for the Farewell. I am also really excited. I was in the hall waiting for everyone. They all are coming one by one. Rudra and Mary came first because they are part of a song. Kush and Roxy came together like always. Rahul also came. He is looking different in formal clothes. Aasira and Rikka are also here and they are looking so pretty but where is Alban? I don't see him. I wanted to tell him something before I left Mumbai. After my boards I am going to Kerala. We are shifting there permanently. Where is this guy? I wanted to tell him this for so long. I was searching for him in the Hall but I was not able to find him. I didn't notice him anywhere. He also skipped school for the last 2 days. Is he out of town?

"Hey Rudra, do you know where Alban is? I can't find him."
"I don't know about him either. He also skipped school for the last two days. Maybe he is out of town or he is sick. I think you should ask Aasira. She was going to call him today."

I went towards Aasira,
"Aasira, do you know where Alban is? You were going to call him in the morning? What did he say? "
"I called him but his phone was switched off."
"Hey Aasira, Sofia. Do you know where Alban is? I have been calling him since yesterday. First the calls were connecting but after sometime his phone was switched off. In the morning I went to his house but it was locked."
"Rikka, I was asking Aasira the same thing. I wanted to speak to him about something important. I want to say it before our boards."
"But why before the boards?"
"I am leaving for Kerala after my exams."
"You are saying that to us now!"
"I am sorry, but it was also sudden for me."
"I am going to Aalima, maybe she knows about Alban."
"Wait Sofia, Me and Aasira are also coming."

We went to Aalima. She was with the other teachers. They were talking about something.

"Miss Aalima, can you come with us for a minute?"
"Yeah sure why not"

We took her away from the crowd to have some privacy.

"Aalima, do you know where Alban is? He is not picking up his calls and his house is also locked"
"What? No, I don't know about him. I think you should go and check what he is doing."
"But where should we go? His house is also locked. Where are we supposed to find him."
"Sofia don't worry, he keeps a spare key underneath the flower pot. Use that key and get in his house"
"Okay then thank you Aalima. I am going now."
"Hey Sofia we  are also coming."
"Aasira, Rikka I will call you if I find him in the house. I just want to say something to him in private. So please, I don't want you to join. I'll inform you if he is not at home.
"If you say so, Sofia."
"Thank you."

I don't know why but Rikka and Aasira are acting a bit different than usual. I don't know but I am getting a feeling that they know something that I don't. I am getting a very bad feeling about this. I think something bad is going to happen. What if Alban is sick and no one is there to take care of him. I have to hurry to his house. When I reached his home I took a deep breath and started to find the key to his house. There was really a key underneath the Flowerpot.

When I opened the house it was very dark inside. Only a small light was on in the kitchen. When I entered the house. A very foul smell was coming from the inside. It smells like something was burned. I started the flash light of my phone to walk without bumping into anything. It really is dark. Where is the switch? I was looking for the Light switch so I pointed the flashlight on the walls. While walking I stumbled onto something. When I used my phone to see what that thing was. My breath was stopped and fear struck through my whole body. I was not able to speak. It is Alban. What Happened here? I switched on the lights and found out. The house was still decorated. The table is broken. What is this ? Who did this? Alban's face was covered in blood. His face is messed up and both legs are swollen. Who did this to him? I know his father beats him, but I don't think he will do this to him. I found out the source of the foul smell. It was expired food and this. What is this? Something was burned here. I saw Rikka's Photo Frame in the corner. It was broken. What should I do? When I went to pick him up, his body was burning up. I somehow managed to pick him up. I picked him up and laid him down on the bed. I brought some cold water and a cloth to keep it on his head. I searched for medicine in his house, and gave him some painkillers, and a medicine for his fever. I cleaned his face. It is swollen. He has cuts on his head too. I bandaged him.
