before she could continue with her memory of last night, someone snapped their fingers in-fount of her face, and hearing Silva voice from the side lines giving the first years a pep talk droning on about how he would train them each day onwards, about how he would help them find their skills, how he would help them hone them.
Seeing him point his sword to a young boy, hearing Silva say "and eventually you, can fight like him.", then throwing the sword to Sky, twisting his body to the right Silva swings the silver weapon in his had towards the direction of the younger boy both grunting while swing their swords at one another, while Silva kicks Sky in the chest sending him toppling over but keeping on his two feet getting right back into a fighting stance, both latching their swords to one another, Silva rips the sword out of the blondes hands, while Sky quickly reaches over his chest to get a small dagger out of the holster, Silva stopping the fight by putting his two swords in a x shape.
Sky breaks into a smile while Silva follows suit, "he fights better with a bit of advance warning." sky says slightly breathless.
"He did alright. favoured his left, but what else is new?"Silva replied in a jokey manner while giving him a smirk, "Skys father was Andreas of Eraklyon." in a proud voice but with a sad tone, while Sky looked saddened by the mention of his father, looking over to August silently asking if she was alright, to which she gave a slight nod to "that made him a legacy admission, but he's still showed up on the first day and did the work." he continued, walking over to Sky he gives him a firm handshake while saying "well done."
He then walked over to August and gave her a strong side hug and kissing the crown of her head, "and this little one over here is his little sister, but even if she looks small and defenceless don't underestimate her, she was raised by me and Sky, so she could take down anyone of you, don't get on her bad side."
He then struts to the front of the group and says, "I expect nothing less from the rest of you, whether your third generation and your parents demanded you come or if i personally selected you from your realms for service." taking a deep breath he added on "That decision was made based on your natural talents in combat and weaponry, and i expect to see that skill in evidence daily. This place will seem like hell..." taking a pause. "until actual hell comes. We are the first line of defence. A certainty when the future is uncertain." he heard a breathy chuckle in the crowed to only see they boy he first pointed the sword to "Is that funny?" he asked annoyed.
while the boy replied quite smugly "It's just that you're talking about preparing for the future in a castle with kids using swords." finishing his sentence with a chuckle.
"Must be nice to live in a world where you can be so soft, where you fear so little, disrespect seems like an option." He said in a calm and collected voice. "Do you know why the barrier exists?" he then asked the boy coking his head to the side.
"To protect the school from the burned ones." the boy replied
Silva clicks his tongue, "Have you ever seen a burned one?", the boy replied "Nobody my age has." while Silva nods his head as if proving a point, the boy continued "But thats kind of my point. Isn't that all over now?" he asks innocently, while Silva replied "What if it's not?" as if it were an obvious question.
"Do you think you would know what to do? I was ten when i saw one for the first time. i was gathering firewood with my father, and we heard it. It was like a rasp. a clicking. My father shot it twice. once in its chest, once in his head. it didn't matter. Burned ones have inhuman speed and strength, and if they cut you, the infection that follows is swift and severe. I watched it happen. i watched the lights dim from my fathers eyes, and when he dropped his shotgun, i knew what i had to do. Be thankful you've never seen a burned one. But if you ever do, pray that it kills you so the ones you love will not have to." he said each word more dark and menacing than the last, each on more true.
That year one sure knows what he's here for now, and that the fight has just begun...
