~Sam~
I sigh and look over the newspaper again. The date catches my eye. July 16, 2007.
"Hey Scarlets what today date?"
"July 16, 2010. Why"
"No reason."
I put the paper down, and look around. It can't be a coincidence that we ended up locked in here, the same day Elizabeth went missing three years ago. I sigh and start to wonder around the small house. There is a bathroom, a very small one with a shower that looks like it hasent been washed in years, but then again, it probably hasen't. There is a small kitchen, with a sink and a cabinet. Inside the cabinet are some crackers, a bit stale, but still okay to eat. I put the box back and walk back to the main room where I left Scarlet.
"Well there is running water, and somewhat edible food," I say, trying to lighten the mood.
"Well, that's great and all, but what are we suppose to do?! There is no way in hell I'm spending the night in a house with a dead body!!"
"Scarlet, babe, calm down, it's not going to hurt you. It's just a body."
I look over at the space next to the bed. The empty space tight next to the bed. The only evidence that Elizabeth was ever there, is the small blood stain on the floor, "Oh my God..."
Scalet looks over and fear fills her eyes, "S-Sam! Where did it go??"
"I...I don't know."
There is a sudden crash in the kitchen that sounds like a plate was dropped. Scarlet's high pitched scream fills the room as she clings to me. The lights to start flicker and Scarlet buries her head in my chest.
"Sam?! What the hell is going on?!" I can hear the fear i her voice, and she sounds close to tears. I gently pry her off of me, taking a step towards the kitchen.
"Sam look out!!"
I feel Scarlet's small fingers wrap around my wrist and pull me back. A light bulb comes falling to the ground, shattering into millions of pieces, right where I was standing moments before.
I shake my head slightly and walk over the the bits of glass, whispering to myself "I dont beilieve in ghosts," as I walk into the kitchen. I look around the kitchen, finding no evidence of the sound of shattering glass. A dim light cathces my eyes, from the corner of the kitchen. I take a step closer to it, as it becomes slightly brighter. The light takes the form of a girl. A human girl, with brown light brown wavy hair, and green grey eyes. Elizabeth Allen. I reach my hand out to touch her, I feel nothing, as if I'm hallucinating, as if she isn't there.
"This can't be real," I say aloud.
"Oh but it is," says the figure in front of me, the ghost of Elizabeth.
"No, it can't be! You're dead! This is not possible!"
"If I am not real, if this isnt't possible, then why are you talking to me Samuel?"
"How do you know my name?"
"I know many things. Do not under estimate me."
"Why are you doing this? Is it you who locked the door? Why can't Scarlet and I leave?"
"I was murdered, Samuel. I must be put to rest, and you must do it. You and Scarlet may not leave until then."
"What do you mean put to rest? Murdered? Where do Scarlet and I come into this?"
"You will see my dear, you will see soon enough. Let me just say, it is not what you are expecting. Good luck Samuel."
And with that, she was gone.
I hear light footsteps come up behind me, and a small hand touch my shoulder, causing me to jump.
"Sam are you all right?" Scarlet asks, removing her hand from my shoulder
"Scarlet?"
Scarlet nods, her eyes a bit unsure of what is going on, "Yes?"
"I saw her. I say Elizabeth. She said...she said that we need to..to put her to rest," I say my voice shaky.
Scarley eyes become filled with concern, "Sam, I think your are hallucinating."
I shake my head, "No! I saw her Scarlet! She was right there, standing in front of me, in old blood splattered ripped jeans and a gray T-shirt. She talked to me, and I talked back. She was there."
Scarlet sighs and takes my hand, "Come on Sam let's go get some rest. I found some blankets that look fairly clean and we can lay on the floor in the main room."
I follow Scarlet into the main room, my mind racing as I try to put together what Elizabeth said. If she was even there. No, I saw her. She was there. She had to be. Scarlet pulls on my hand, trying to get me to lay down on the bundle of blankets. I lay down and she pulls a heavier blanket on top of us.
"She knew me Scarlet, she knew my name, I know she did."
"It's okay Sam, now let's go to sleep. Did you by any chance hit your head?"
"And I can't help but have this feeling, that I know her too."
Before I can even think about what happened, before Scarlet had a chance to respond, I fall asleep.
****What did you guys think?! Let me know in the comment section!! Do you think Sam talked to Elizabeth or was it just some weird hallucination? Hmm...****
