I stood with my suitcase at the door, Mum hugged Snow close to her. "Look after your sister Blue" I took Snow's hand and led her to the taxi. We are on our way to boarding school. Our very first time. We sit in the taxi together looking anxious.
It is a long drive to Cornwall but we make it. The driver helps us with our luggage to the great front door. I knock and the door is opened by a Sixth Former. She is very kind and helps Snow with her suitcase. We are led to the head's office.
"You must be Snowdrop and Bluebell" we nod. "My name is Miss Frost I am the head teacher. You are both in Pankhurst House." She calls in two girls. One of Snow's age and one of mine. I hug Snow hard and say to her "See you later maybe" The younger girl says "You will see her at supper" I nod at her, she seems kind enough. I turn and look at the girl my age. Her hair is medium length and golden brown. Her face is covered by freckles and she grins wickedly at me.
"Hi I'm Charlie I'm head of Year Eight and I'm in your house as well. I was really pleased to hear you were coming! We will share a desk and a room it's going to be great" I smile at her and know she means every word.
I un-pack my suitcase with the help of Charlie. She gives me a guided tour afterwards. She is very proud of Seaview Manor. I am too. Charlie tells me she needs to go to a meeting for about half an hour. I check the clock 5:15. 45 minutes till supper. I go off in search of Snow, she is surrounded by eleven year olds. She sees me and runs. She hugs me hard, I look around at the other girls, one girl comes forward. She has long curly hair, "You can't be here go away. Senior girls can't come to Junior quarters and we aren't allowed into their quarters" I glare at her, but say goodbye.
Later when Charlie has returned we go down to supper, I look for Snow. She is already sat at a table. I sit with Charlie, all the girls smile. "This is Kerry, Louise, Jemma, Bethany, Georgie, May, Daisy, Nora, Zoe and that is Seraphina" Seraphina scowls at me. "I'm Blue" Seraphina snorts obviously finding it hilarious. "What sort of a name is that!" I retaliate in an almost as menacing tone. "It's a NICE name it is short for Bluebell" I shut up for the rest of Supper.
