"oh, lyla." she said, pulled me into a big hug, "i'm
sorry, mum. i was drunk, stupid." i cried.

"it's okay, lyla. i'm here for you, i'll help you every step of the way. even if the father isn't, you'll always have me." she said

"thanks, mum. i love you." i said, "i love you too, baby." she said, we pulled away.

"how far along are you?" she asked, "it happened at harry greene's party, 3 weeks ago today." i said.

"is he the father of the baby?" she asked, i nodded looking down, "don't be ashamed, lyla. there's nothing to be ashamed about." she said.

"i don't know if i can tell him, mum." i said. "you have to at some point. it's his child too." she said.

"i will, just not right now." i said, she nodded. "i'll make an appointment for tomorrow, i'll drop you to school after." she said, i nodded.

"thanks mum." i smiled, "i was pregnant at 16 with you, i know how it feels." she said.

"is that why dad left?" i asked, "that man was a prick. we don't need him in our lives. it's just you and me against the world, and this baby coming."

i chuckled, "i love you." i said, "i love you too, lyla. don't be scared to tell me anything ever again." she said.

"i won't i promise." i said, "now get some sleep. important day tomorrow." she told me, "goodnight." i said, "goodnight." she smiles.

i love my mum.

i went into bed and fell asleep almost instantly after my head hit the pillow from all this crying.

-

i woke up this morning, tired as hell. i could barley open my eyes, i put on some makeup to try and cover my blood shot eyes, dark bags under my eyes.

i put my hair up in a bun, brushed my teeth and put my uniform on, went downstairs. i didn't feel like eating breakfast today.

"you ready to go?" my mum asked me, i nodded and we made our way to the hospital in the car.

i'm going to be a mother.

"you alright, lyla?" she asked, i nodded. "just tired." i said, "i'm not surprised." she said.

we arrived at the hospital and i got called into the room, my mum came with me.

"what's your name, dear." the doctor asked me, "lyla-sage matthews." i said, "ah, yes. you are pregnant, correct?" she asked, i nodded.

"well let's take a look at this baby." she said, i lifted my school shirt up. put the thing on my stomach and starting searching for the baby.

"there's your baby. you can hear their heartbeat." the doctor said, i smiled. "you seem to be 3 weeks and 1 day along." she said, "i assumed that." i said.

"well, miss matthews you seem to have a healthy baby." she said, "thank you." i smiled.

after she finished it was time to go to school. i had only missed first lesson.
