Chapter three

A few months into Sam's slow recovery with her gunshot wound being hard to treat due to the place she finally got the all clear to go home well to a hotel room anyway as they still hadn't found a place yet so second Sam and Belle walked out the hospital a police car drives up and stops in front of them and the officer driving gets out and Sam sighs to herself and slowly puts her hands up to be cuffed but the officer shakes his head and assures her he's not there to arrest her and bring her for questioning like they wanted to do at first she looked confused as to why they gave up wanting to question her and he responded with " well we ran a check on you and found out who your mother was and that's when we realised that you are doing good in the world your gang isn't out killing random innocent people it's removing murderers who get away with crimes we've been unable to solve and helping us track down criminals we've been chasing for a long time yeah your a gang leader which ain't the best suit but you do actual good compared to other gangs who just wanna murder each other for a place in this city so the governer has decided to let you free since your mother actually was well known here for her work she did to help people"Sam nodded she never knew much about her mothers past as her mother wasnt the type to reminice on old memories but Sam buried her past with her mother and fully took on that name and cut off everyone who knew her by Sabrina to be on the safer side and now that she completely reinvented herself and exposing the truth to her wife she felt guilty for abandoning the life she had the first time and for choosing to lead a double life instead while she was lost in thought and old memories coming back to her the officer looked at her and began to speak again"your mothers old house is still in perfect living condition for you, your wife and two daughters to move into" Sam not hearing what he said fully just nodded and went with her wife picked up the girls and went to the house her mother lived in before she had Sam.

it was a half-hour drive across the city to the house and when they got there they saw that the place was huge as they got out the officers that escorted them there walked up to them " this is where your mother lived 4 bed 3 bath a study a library games room for the kids and a pool for you all to enjoy and of course your own cleaning staff " Belle cut in and said " thank fuck no more cleaning for me" Shannon and Rose both looked at their mother at each other and then at the same time and yelled in unison " mum swore!! " Sam laughed and shook her head and took them all inside and looked around and helped the girls pick a room each Sam grabbed Belles's hand gently and took her to their room covered her eyes and walked her in the room slowly and took her to the balcony and uncovered her eyes" ok open them honey and take a look at our view " as she stood beside her wife putting an arm around her waist Belle opened her eyes and looked amazed " the kids within earshot?" Sam took a quick look closed the balcony door over and smiled " now they ain't so go for it" Belle smiled looked out at the view again and shouted " fucking hell this is way better than all the ones we have had before!" she cuddled right up to her wife and sighed softly" I'm so glad you got home baby and that we are able to have a place where we are safe and the girls don't gotta worry about being hurt or targetted for who their parents are" Sam looked confused but didn't show it to Belle " parents" what does she mean by that her job isn't dangerous at all why did she say it about both of us has she been lying to me about her job too? no she wouldn't lie to me shes got too many tells when shes lying Sam gets snapped out of her thoughts when Belle nudges her laughing " what's gotten you all silent haven't heard you this quiet since our wedding night everything ok? " she nodded and pulled her closer gently to her chest being midnful of her wound and kissed her wife the same way she did when they got married and went back inside and that night while Belle,Rose and shannon where all asleep she snuck out and stood on the garage roof being careful to not be spotted looking around carefully and noticed something off about the attic window and as she looked closer she heard a gunshot ring out and fell off the roof landing on her back she quickly got up checking herself for a new gunshot wound and checked her original wound in case it had reopend thankfully it hadnt but as she put her shirt back down she heard " shes close boys spread out and find her I want sabrina winters found!!" the voice was gruff but somehow familiar to her she took the oppertunity to sneak back into the house and decided she needed backup immediately and called the Director and as just as she put her hand on the door to go into her room she shared with her wife she paused was she hearing things no she put her phone down from her ear and leaned closer to the door her wifes phone was ringing just as Sam pieced it together in her head what was going on she got knocked out by something heavy to the back of her head.

Belle woke up the next morning and checked her phone as she always did however she got concerned when she saw her wife had tried to call her during the night and went through the entire house calling her wife's name growing more concerned with every room seeming to have no trace of Sam she called her several times to no avail that is however until she went outside and noticed Sams phone laying on the ground smashed but just barely useable she growled and cursed under her breath she was concerned that Sam might've found out the truth last night and left her without warning but as she thought that reality kicked in that Sam wouldn't have done that as she  loved their daughters too much to abandon them over a lie like that so while the girls were at school that day Belle went to the governor and explained that Sam was missing and worried someone from their past had found her and taken her the police went searching the entire day while Belle went out with the gang dressed as the Director to try and locate her wife all the while trying to figure out a way to tell the girls why Sam wasnt home when they would return from school she kept a radio channel set to the governer so she could keep in contact with them in case they found her however as the hours passed by and the day turned to night the fears that Sam truly did abandon her family started in her mind again that night as the girls slept Belle refused to believe her wife really did do that and so she asked her parents to stay at the house for the night and with the rifle Sam always used she went off hoping to find her wife and bring her back home as she was walking along she stuck to the shadows she heard a group of men stop just short of her location and start talking and laughing " does the boss really think that girl is gonna talk?" "I know right didn't he say he had a past with Sabrina or does he think she is still that scared little bitch she was growing up who thought it would be funny to go after him" " ah she's probably still pissed about the fact he's got her left eye as a trophy of her failure to kill him for what he did to her family she's a coward anyway you know if she had just stayed still a second longer on  that roof I would've had her" Belle couldn't believe her she was right her wife never left after finding out the truth but now she just had to find out where they kept her wife and she knew exactly how to do it she quickly hid the rifle and walked over to the guys dressed as her alter ego and started a conversation with them saying she was new but the boss wanted them to show her interrogation tactics " oh yeah your a little late but who cares cmon then lets go" the tall guy said as he fixed his shirt and looked Belle up and down but  showed her the way to where Sam was being kept but she was not prepared for what she was going to see when they opened the door to where she was being kept.
