"Do you know her?" Rebekah asked after a few moments of silence.
"We, uh, we saved her recently. Compelled her to go home and forget about what happened" Hope explained, not wanting her family to get brought in to the monsters.
"I guess she got attacked on the way home" Lizzie said with a frown. "We should have made sure she got home safe"
"We thought the danger had passed. Whoever did this ... it's not your responsibility. Any vampire capable of this is probably here because of me" Without another word, Hope left the room.
Lizzie watched Hope go before following after her. She walked inside Hope's room, only to find the tribrid pulling out a chest from under her bed. She opened her trunk, revealing a variety of weapons.
"What- what are you doing?" Lizzie asked.
"I'm gonna kill the vampire that did this" Hope said, pulling out a stake and slipping it into the inside pocket of her jacket.
"Maybe you should let, I dont know, the adults handle this? This isn't some giant spider or a dragon. Are you sure you can bring yourself to kill them?"
"Yes. They killed her. So I kill them"
"Do you even know who you're looking for? I mean it could be anyone"
"I've seen him. Twice. His sister or friend or girlfriend or whatever was the one that stabbed me. He got away from me twice. This is my responsibility. Her death is on my hands. If I had done what I needed to the first time, she would still be alive" Hope's voice cracked a little as she pleaded Lizzie to understand.
Lizzie placed a hand on her shoulder. "You weren't the one that killed her. Its not your fault."
"Yes. It is. Because they were in town to kill me"
"Okay. I'm supposedly really bad at focusing on other people. But talk to me and tell me the truth. I want to help you, Hope. But I can't if I dont know the whole story"
Hope hesitated and looked down a bit, thinking. "I'm not supposed to say anything to anyone. I made an exception for Landon because I- I trust him."
Lizzie moved her hand away from Hope. "And you barely know me" She stood up and moved to leave.
"My name isn't Hope Marshall" The words came pouring out of Hope's mouth before she could stop them. "It's Hope Andrea Mikaelson. I'm the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall"
"You're the one our mom wanted us to help two years ago? The one where Josie and I did the spell to transfer it out of you and to your dad, and in exchange, we now have a variety of uniforms and no skirt limitations"
Hope couldn't help letting out a chuckle. Even though it wasn't really funny. It was funny because it was about her and not someone else. "You only saved my life because you got a variety of uniforms out of it?" she questioned.
"Well yeah. Mostly because we knew our mom would agree to it if it was that important. And we didn't exactly know it was lethal"
The tribrid nodded and looked down a bit in thought. She let out a small sigh, trying to figure out what to do. "And with how many enemies my dad has, I've moved from place to place to lessen the chances of them finding me"
"Look, I get you want to stop him, especially since you blame yourself for Sasha's death, and I agree he should be stopped. But you need to be smart about this. Do you even have a way to find him?"
"Not exactly. No. I don't have anything of his"
"Exactly. So lets work together to figure this out instead of just charging off like the Lone Ranger"
