She could never hope to have it that easy. Especially not now.
The real conversation between Scarlett and her friends:
4:37pm Wednesday, June 22nd
"What in the world are you looking at? There's no one over there!"
Naomi sighed as Scarlett gave no sign of hearing what she had said.
All of a sudden, Scarlett jerked her head towards them, causing both of them to jump.
"I'm not feeling the best today." She said with a distant look in her eye.
Piper was getting pissed, and Naomi could see it. "Okay, you're creeping me the fuck out. Tell us what's going on, or go sit somewhere else!" She snarled.
Unfortunately for Scarlett, the hallucinations started long before she got into the heat. They started a few hours before she even left the mall.
All of Scarlett's reality became twisted as soon as she got comfortable.
"I'm gonna head home." She stood up barely acknowledging the fact that Piper said anything.
"Scarlett!" Screeched Piper. A few other people who were sitting around them, gave them strange looks. Naomi tugged at her shirt nervously. Scarlett turned back to look at the girls.
"Why are you being such a colossal bitch?! It's really nothing new, but this is getting ridiculous! You don't talk to us for days, and when you do, you're all fucking out of it! Get your shit together, or I'm not sure we can let you hangout with us anymore!" Piper sighed in relief and stared at the ground. She had been wanting to stick up to Scarlett for so long!
When she looked up however, Scarlett was smiling. Her eyes were glassy, and she was humming a little tune, as if she was living her own reality.
"What's funny? Hey! Where are you going?!" Scarlett had turned around without even saying goodbye, and was walking towards the exit.
"She's such a twat... Who does she think she is!" Piper squeals in frustration.

4:53pmScarlett was still out of breath. But now she could look around. The sky was cloudy, and the wind was blowing lightly.
What happened to the sun? She thought to herself. It had completely disappeared behind the giant clouds.
She was only about a block away from her house. She was still very shaken up, but right now she just wanted to sleep.

5:06pm"Mom, what happened to the sun? I thought it was supposed to be the hottest day of the year. But the sun's gone right now!"
Her mother looked over, a worried look in her eyes.
"The sun has been gone all day, it's supposed to be cloudy all week." She said calmly.
Scarlett was a spitting image of her mother, Emily Kinstone. The only real difference was that age had taken its effect on her. Her laugh lines were more defined, and there were small wrinkles around her eyes. Her brown hair was a bit shorter than Scarlett's and always in a little bun. Her voice rang out harmonically when she spoke. Her hands were small and delicate, and overall she was a fairly small woman. But she was genuinely beautiful.
"Whatever. I'm going to bed." She mumbled.
And Scarlett was out as soon as she hit the bed.
