Chapter 1:
“Babe?” Niall called from downstairs.
“Yeah” I called back.
“You ready? The adoption agency wants us to be there in ten minutes”
“Yeah yeah im coming” I finished getting dressed into my blue jeans and white t-shirt with black hightops. I walked downstairs to see Niall standing by the door with black jeans, a red polo and white hightops. I smiled and walked over to him, kissing his cheek. He smiled back and grabbed my hand, leading me out to the car.
Once we’d gotten in and I was driving towards the adoption agency, Niall spoke up. “Do you want a boy or a girl?” he asked.
I shrugged “Umm maybe a boy” I replied back. He nodded as I pulled up in front of centre. We got out at the same time and walked inside holding hands.
I lead us up to the front desk and the receptionist lady smiled at us. “Mr and Mr Payne-Horan?” she asked and we both nodded.
“Well hello, are you looking for a boy or a girl?” she asked.
“A boy” I replied
She nodded “age?”
“Youngish, under five” Niall spoke up
She nodded again and searched the computer in front of her to find a match. “We have a two year old boy and a four year old boy but the four year old has ADHD”
I nodded “Can we meet the four year old?”
“Yeah, I’ll be right back” she rose from her chair and walked out of the room, returning a few minutes later with a four year old boy with blue eyes and brown hair styled in a sort of bowl cut. “This is Jason” she said and returned behind her desk
I smiled and walked over to where Jason stood. I crouched down in front of him “Hello, Im Liam and this is Niall” I gestured to myself then to Niall who had crouched beside me.
“Im Jason” he replied
I nodded “What do you like to do Jason?”
“I like sports, football, softball, basketball”
I smiled “Do you want to come live with us?”
He nodded and I smiled. “Okay we’ll be right back” Niall and I stood and walked over to the front desk.
