I wake up in a cold sweat. Screaming in fear. It was just a nightmare. I get up and walk to Father's office door. It's probably around 12 or 1 in the morning. He's still awake, working. "Father?" I say.

Father glances up, noticing me. He sets his pen down as he studies me. "Hunter, what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?"

I slowly nod my head. "Do you want to talk about it?" Father asks. I nod my head at normal speed this time. He gestures for me to sit on the sofa as he moves to stand. We sit next to each other, my head resting on his shoulder while his arm wraps around me. It's nice to sit here with him. "So, tell me about this nightmare."

"I was back in the Hospital Ward. Everything was blurry. I could see you and Mother. You guys looked so upset. Mother was sobbing into your shoulder. Then, I heard it. The sound of a flat line. I couldn't move to see where it was coming from. I saw the doctor telling you something. He said "Death Time: 1:04." I thought maybe he meant someone else. But he looked directly at me. His eyes were gone, Father. It was horrifying. He said to me, "I'm sorry. But your dead now." In a really creepy deep voice. That's when I woke up."

A moment of silence passes between Father and me after I finish. I glance up at him, watching as he takes in everything I just said. He finally pulls in a breath of air. "You must not tell your Mother about this. Or anyone for that matter." He says gently. I nod my head in understanding. Mother hasn't recovered since what happened to me when I was nine.

Father continues. "if you have this dream, or anything similar, you let me know. I'll always be here to comfort and listen to you. He sighs. "For the moment, you are safe and that's all that matters. Now, go back to sleep, I'll need to think about all of this."

"Okay, Father." I say as tiredness begins to take over again.

He wraps his arms around me, giving me a loving hug. His lips brush against the top of my head before I stand up and go back to bed.

That was the first night I have had a headache.
