 Ep. 8:  The Typhoon.

Narumi's POV:

Ugh, I worked overtime again and worse when the weather was horrible.

I didn't even have an umbrella. I rushed to get my work down and made sure I backed up the drivers. I finally finished and then thunder flashed and I grabbed my stuff and started to run out of there. It was super windy and the rain poured heavily. I was going to get soaked and it was all my fault. The convenience store was a few blocks away.

My notes are going to get ruined. I braced myself and went toward the convivence store and I could barely see.

I was reaching the convivence store when I felt myself slip and then felt a strong arm hold me up by the waist.

I backed away quickly as soon as I steadied myself I moved away, "I-I am so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Thank you, I'm sorry I have to get home. My boyfriend is waiting for me." I smiled.

"Really? At least let me accompany you yo,ung lady? You may slip again."

'No, it's fine. I am almost at the convivence store. Thank you."

"If I was your boyfriend, I would be out walking you home. Maybe if you want I could invite you out for a drink."

"No. I have to get home." I turned around and went to walk across the street when he pulled me back.

"C'mon I insist." Thunder roared once more and I froze.

"Get off of me!" I screamed and then slipped again.

I heard running footsteps and felt someone get pushed.

"Narumi, are you alright?" I heard Hirotaka's voice say worryingly.

I started crying, "HIROTAKA!" I hugged him.

"Narumi, you're soaked. I texted you and you didn't respond for a good 20 minutes."

"My phone died while doing overtime. I'm sorry."

"C'mon you're shaking. Let's go." He grabbed his coat and placed it on me while ushering me to his side.

"Is that really how you treat an old friend Narumi?" The man smiled wickedly and I realized who it was.

"We are not friends." I gritted my teeth, "Leave me alone, Leo." I clutched Hirotaka's jacket tighter.

"Oh really? I see you moved on quickly. Well, did you know she's one of those weird otaku girls?" He smirked at me and I felt tears fill my eyes, "I bet you she deceives all the people she dates because no one wants to date a fucking nobody like her. If I were you I'd find a better girl, especially with bigger boo-"

Without being able to finish Hirotaka punched him in the face, not once but twice then Leo punched him back. Hirotaka kicked him and sent him flying to the wall behind him. Leo looked shocked and Hirotaka lowered to his level and said, "If I hear another word come out of your mouth about my girlfriend you will regret it. My girlfriend is perfect the way she is. You can't possibly understand that you missed out bud. Just because she is an otaku doesn't mean that she isn't worth dating, you are just too self-centered to care about anyone other than yourself. "

"Why you!?" Leo growled and I pulled Hirotaka back. I grabbed Leo by the collar, "Get the fuck out of here. Or I swear my boyfriend will do his worse and not even I will be able to stop him," I let go of his collar, "Go!" I yelled and he sprinted away.

I looked at Hirotaka and grabbed his bruised hands, "Thank you, but you bruised your gaming hands," Then I saw his face and he had a bruise on his cheek, "You face. Hirotaka, I am so sorry." I hugged him shakily.

"I'm sorry. I lost control. I didn't mean to scare you. C'mon, let go home okay?" He smiled.

"Yes, please." He grabbed my hand and we walked towards the bus stop and took the bus home. As soon as we reached his house I showered. Once I was done I sent Hirotaka in and made something to eat with the groceries I bought for his fridge. I also took out some bandages and a first aid kit to help heal his hands. I set the table and then laid on the couch to relax a bit after a  when a thunder crash struck and the power went off.

I fell off the couch in shock and hit my elbow, "Ouch!"

"Narumi! I heard a thump. Are you alright?" Hirotaka yelled walking out of his room.

"Fine. I just hit my elbow and it hurts. The flash scared me when the lights went out." I said while he helped me up.

"Okay." He pulled me in for a hug and I hugged him back and wasn't scared anymore.

"Let's heal your hands okay?" I carefully grabbed the things and motioned him to sit. I grabbed bandages around his fingers and placed a patch on his face. I kissed him on the cheek where Leo had hit him.

"Did you date an asshole like him?"

"Sadly." I sighed, "But I feel that I saw a new side of you today. You sent him flying."

"Well, he pissed me off after making you cry so I just lost it. I shouldn't have punched him."

"No, he deserved much worse." I crossed my arms looking down at my chest.

"I think you're perfect just the way you are. Don't mind what he says okay? I'm here to remind you of that every day." He smiled at me and kissed me softly on the lips.

"Thank you, it's sad the power went out because no we can't play games," I replied.

"Aw, I was looking forward to starting that new game I bought!" He groaned.

"How about we eat first?"

"Sure," he mumbled and we ate in the dark. The strikes and flashes became more frequent as time went on but Hirotaka grabbed my hand and I wasn't scared anymore.

I looked over at my bag, "Oh no! MY NOTES!!" I rushed to my bag and my notebook was soaked and the ink on the pages melted into each other. I smacked the book down and put my head in my hands.

"Hey, it's okay." Hirotaka comforted me. I shook my head and then he showed me his phone, he took pictures of my notes.

"You're a god!" I hugged him happily and kissed him then the light turned back on. We turned on and played some games then watched anime for a while then fell asleep in each other arms on the couch.
