Chapter 2: Just Friends

Me and Darby decided to meet up today at a skatepark. So that's what we did. I grabbed my skateboard with a picture of a skeleton with it's head on fire and I started to ride my skateboard to the park he was talking about. As I got there I kicked up my skateboard into my hand I starhis back wasted to carry it, I seen Darby, turned, I slowly snuck up on him, as I got close I jumped on his back, giggling. "Hi Darby!" I start laughing harder as Darby jumps. "Well hey there Maxi." He smiles. I didn't realize how pretty his smile was. I slowly slide down. "So about the skateboarding?" I start playing with my bracelets, looking down. Darby lifts my chin up with his finger. "Let's go" he says smiling. I softly smile as a blush crept to my face. I start riding my skateboard in the park, I went down a rail but there was gum or something on the rail...I couldn't tell. My skateboard ends up stopping and I go flying off. "Maxi!" Darby yells, catching me. I tighten my grip on Darby's shirt has I breathe heavily. "I'm..I'm so sorry." I whisper. "It's perfectly fine.. how about we go get lollipops or something?" I nod softly. "Let's go then." I walk beside Darby, still a little shook from when I almost fell. "You okay? ur kinda quiet." I nod. "I'm fine, Darby." I sigh. We continue walking as I grab money out of my pocket. "Can you get me a blue lollipop..? Get yourself one too." I smile. Darby nods as he runs into the store. I sit by the door with my skateboard beside me, playing a game on my phone. I seen Darby come out, I didn't see what color lollipop he got. He gave me mine as I opened it and licked it. I grab my skateboard, putting my phone in my pocket and walking beside Darby. We headed to a park. There was little kids running around everywhere. Me and Darby just sat at the tables watching them, I sat my skateboard on the table, zoning out while I licked my lollipop. I felt something stab me. I look over and a little kid is poking me with a nail or something. "Stop." I say. The kid didn't stop until I stood up with my skateboard in my hand and started to walk away. Darby followed me but I just ignored him. "Maxi." Darby said, I was still ignoring him. "Maxi!" I stopped when Darby ran in front of me, pulling me close to his body and kissing me. "Awwwww!" I heard a familiar voice call. I pulled away from Darby to see my brother Eli. "Eli!" I yell, chasing after him, he starts bolting as I urge myself forward. I heard Darby laughing behind me as I tackled Eli. I was about to punch him until I feel someone pick me up. I turn around and see Darby then I turn back to Eli still trying to go after him. "Ur lucky this time!" I yell as I'm being dragged away by Darby. "We're just friends, asshole!" I scream. Smiling back at Darby.
