Theodore
I begrudgingly followed my four best friends into the line for the night club. I wasn't the biggest fan of drinking and I always worried about what people would think when they saw me dancing, I have no rhythm and two left feet.
You could easily hear the music from the back of the line, I began to pick at the purple polish on my nails, I didn't like the chaos of clubs. Even though this is my favorite club to go to I always felt anxious before I went in and even after going in I still couldn't calm my nerves.
"Come on Teddy! You'll have fun trust me!" Corey spoke quietly to me. I nodded my head and focused on the front door of the club. I didn't really feel like partying today I just wanted to relax and watch a movie, maybe have some popcorn and a candy and then go to bed. I visibly frowned when I noticed it was our turn to go in.
Just as I do every time, I watched a few people be led up a large staircase to the left of the entrance after grabbing a colorful wrist band. We continued towards the bar to grab our first drink. The people with the wrist bands hardly ever mix in with the downstairs part of the club. A few people here and there but usually they keep to their part of the club and you can sometimes see people at the edge of the balcony but unless you have an invite, you can't go upstairs. I've always wondered what it's like upstairs and why everyone else can't go up there.
I gently climbed onto the barstool, having to stand on my tiptoes to get all the way up. I smiled as I kicked my feet under the bar. I ordered water, I didn't want to drink but my friends wouldn't let that fly for long.
"Okay Teddy let's go, do this shot and come dance with us!" Owen shouted over the music, I rolled my eyes but followed them to a table near the back of the bar. The bar was my favorite place to sit because of the soft turquoise lights that light up the back wall and bar. It looks really pretty behind all the alcohol.
I felt a shot glass being shoved into my hand and the sticky liquid dripped down my hand. I fought the urge to stick my tongue out, like a child who is being told to eat their brussel sprouts.
"1. 2. 3!!" On three we all swallowed the first shot of the night, I nearly gagged as I set the glass back on the table. Before I could say no another round of shots had appeared. Quickly choking it back I felt the liquid heat up my belly and of course my little ears too.
We made our way towards the dance floor and I couldn't stop the giggles that began to leave my mouth, I am definitely a lightweight and a sensitive one at that. I didn't feel the anxiety I was feeling earlier. I hate drinking before I drink but I love how I feel once it hits my belly.
Without a second thought I started moving my hips to the music. Who cares what anyone thinks. Two songs later I felt another shot being pushed into my hand, I needed to stop after this.
My favorite song came on and my friends began yelling, I laughed and danced along with them. Before I knew it we had already taken three more shots and the song wasn't anywhere near over.
I felt the hiccups jerk my body, and the giggles continued to leave my body. I spun around and started making my way towards the bar, I know I need some water. I need to sober up slightly. I smiled and danced my fingers across the bar.
"I like your duck socks, I have a tie that has ducks on it too." A deep voice spoke from my right side. I giggled but kept my eyes focused on the blue lights behind the alcohol bottles. I had to remember that I needed water and his voice was distracting enough so I could only imagine how distracting his face would be.
A moment passed and I still hadn't seen the bartender, so I couldn't help but sneak a look at the deep voice that spoke to me minutes ago. He is gorgeous, tight jawline, fancy suit, and funny enough he happened to have a bright red wristband on. I reached out and touched it with a giggle. Words were beyond failing me at this point.
