PROLOGUE

"Stop annoying me, Jayden!" I shouted at him dahil kanina niya pa ako kinukulit!

"Just one coffee date, please?" He begged then put his palms together.

We're at class and he even switched places with my seatmate so that he can annoy me! Wala namang pake ang teacher namin.

"I said I'm not going with you." I replied seriously while doodling at the back of my notebook.

"Please, Astraea? Just one then I'll stop." I hate when people call me by that name!

"Don't call me Astraea!"

"Okay, Cali. Please na kasi. Promise isa lang talaga." Ang kulit.

"Fine! Kapag naka perfect ka sa test natin mamaya." I challenged him. I immediately regret my answer dahil matalino si Jayden. Kahit hindi siya mag-review at matalino siya. "And it's not a date." Para lang malinaw.

"Is that it, Calista?" He smirked.

"Pero kapag ako ang naka-perfect..." I trailed off. "Hindi ako sasama sayo."

"Easy." He replied then got back to his seat. He immediately open his phone.

I saw my seatmate looking at me from time to time. She's acting weird these past few weeks. I looked at her and she drifted her attention to the book she's reading.

"Wala ka namang gusto kay Jayden 'di ba, Cali?" I got shocked by her question.

"What?!" Ano ba namang tanong 'yan!

"Sabi ko, wala ka namang gusto kay Jayden, hindi ba?" Syempre wala! Over my dead body.

"W-well, w-wala naman?" Sagot ko sakanya.

"Ah. Good." Sagot niya at bumalik sa ginagawa niya.

Weird.

Jayden is not hard to like. He's the perfect definition of 'campus heartthrob' so there are many people fangirling over him. He's smart, handsome, sporty, and tall.

I act serious and cold around him is because I don't want to get involved in any drama. He acts serious most of the time but I heard he's the clingy type.

I can't even forget that I used to like him back then.

You can't blame me but I don't like him anymore. It's just a happy crush. and that was a really long time ago.

Our Math class came and hindi ako nag-review. It was about geometry which I don't really like that much because I hate formulas and numbers. I prefer Science. I love Anatomy so much.

The moment I received the paper I immediately started answering. Hindi ako pwedeng bumagsak.

We're the ones who checked the exam so I got my score easily.

"Basic." I whispered to myself as I look at the perfect score on my paper.

"Guess what? I got a perfect score, Calista." He smirked playfully.

"Guess what, Jayden? I got a perfect score too." I smirked at him and showed my paper.

I saw his face saddened.

I knew he'd perfect this test. It might even be too easy for him. I found it difficult but still managed to answer all of the questions.

"Are you still going to the coffee shop with me?" He asked.

"I did say that if I got a perfect score I won't be coming but one coffee with you won't hurt."

"Hmm, 'kay. Sa The Coffee Club tayo. My treat at sabay tayong aalis dito." Kalmadong sabi niya at nagsimulang mag ligpit ng gamit. I saw the smile plastered on his face.

I put most of things there at wala na rin akong masyadong iniwan sa bag ko.

"Let's go." Narinig ko si Jayden sa tabi ko.

I don't really get why he wants to have a coffee 'date' with me.

"Why are you holding my bag? Hindi naman ako tatakas." I looked back at him.

"Wala lang." He replied.

I hate dramas but going out with him means causing drama. What have I done?

We arrived at the coffee shop and I immediately find a table dahil ayokong nakatayo.

The place is crowded but not suffocating.

Jayden sat down in front of me. He opened his bag and got his laptop and ipad. So I got mine out too. It's actually like we're matching but in different color.

"Do you need help with anything?" I asked him.

He scratched his eyebrow and smiled shyly. "Yeah."

Bingo. He needs help. He could've just ask me at school. Is really going on a coffee shop necessary?

"Why didn't you just ask me earlier?"

"Uh. Wala akong time." Yeah right.

"What subject?" I asked while scrolling through my notes. It's definitely not Math because he's really good in that subject. Maybe Science.

"Science," Knew it!

I gave him my notes so that he can copy it. I saw him typing on his ipad but I also saw the notebook on the table. He has a neat handwriting. What a major turn on.

Did I just say that?

I was scrolling through my phone when I remembered I'm struggling with a Math lesson. Should I ask for his help?

Should I or should I not?

While I was thinking, he spoke.

"Are you hungry? Do you want anything? I can order if you want to."

"Just order something. I don't like something in particular right now. Just choose for me." I replied.

"Okay."

While he was ordering. I got his ipad and started continuing what he's typing. I understand easily how he does notes so I continued for him.

"Why does this look like a study date?" I whispered.
