It was late. Devin was holding my hand, dragging me away from the camp.

He told me about a special place. Only he and now me knew about it. It was a cave.

It looked like it was full of crystals, shining, with beautiful flowers. He took a flower, cut it and put it in my hair.

"There." He said.

He looked in my eyes, smiling. I never really noticed, but he had beautiful eyes.

"Thanks, it's really pretty." I said.

I looked around me. The cave was pretty big, and there was a waterfall near.

It was small, but still pretty. There were few rocks put by the water, and Devin sat down.

He leaned against the rocks.

"C'mon, sit down." He said.

I sat beside him. It was a beautiful view.

"I usually come here when I'm sad or when I just want some space." He said.

"Y'know Devin," I said after some time of silence.

"I never really understood one thing about you. You always seem so happy." I looked at him.

"How come?" I asked.

"Well, I guess you just gotta look around you, and be thankful for what you've got." He said.

"For the people that you love, and the people that love you. For having a home, a family. A place to be." He looked away, smiling.

"I never thought about that." I said.

"I have a question. Why were you sad?" He asked.

He was looking at me. I could've just said I felt tired, I could've lied.

I rarely trust people, but something in that moment told me to tell the truth.

"Well, you know Captain Hook, right?" I asked.

"I mean yeah, who doesn't?" He said.

"Yeah, well, I'm his kid. I'm Y/n Jones Hook." I said, looking away.

"I know you might think I'm a bad person, but peter already knows, and he's okay with it." I said.

"I promise I don't mean harm I just-" and before I could finish, Devin shushed me.

"Shh. Don't explain anything. I don't think you're a bad person just cause you're father is Hook." He said.

At that moment, I was just full of emotion. I didn't want to go back, Devin's here telling me everything is okay.

Why? Why can't I live a normal life like the rest of the kids?

"He's coming for me. Hook, he wants me back." I said.

"Do you want to go back?" Devin asked.

"No. I hate being around him. I- I always tried to make him proud, but he never saw anything in me." I said.

"And it's not the worst part. There was this kid, on the ship. One of the crew members kid." I was flashing back.

"He sucked at everything he did, yet Hook was proud of everything he did." I said.

"How come a random kid gets all his love, but not me. His own blood. He treated me like I was nothing."

Did he really think I was a nothing? Did I really mean nothing to him?

"Well, you must've meant something to him. If you didn't, wiuld he come back?" Devin asked.

I made a laugh.

"Yeah right. The reason he came back was probably because of the crew. They kind of liked me, and I always helped out." I said.

Then, while looking at the waterfall, there was a memory, that washed over me.

Few years ago, 10:43 pm, Pacific ocean.

We were sailing all over the world. We wanted to explore everything. Go all over the world.

It was amazing. Although it was late, I was still out, working. I helped the crew wash the ship.

And then, the person that was driving the ship just passed out. Everyone was freaking out.

Captain was sick, and could not drive the ship. A storm was coming.

Me, who had never really driven a ship, took over. I got the crew ready, and with everyone's help, I got us out.

Then I remember what father told me.

"You have to be more careful, Y/n. You are still just a kid, and you have to leave these kind of things to full growns." He said.

"I'm disappointed in you, Y/n. I thought you knew better than that." He turned away, and left.

I got my mind out of the clouds, and snapped back to reality.

"Y/n? You okay?" Devin asked.

"Yeah, just- zoned out. The view is really beautiful." I said.

"Yeah, but it's really late. We have to get bck to the camp." He said.

We both went back to the camp, and he took me to my hut.

"Goodnight Devin." I said, going in my hut.

"Wait, Y/n! Promise me not to tell anyone about the place. It's just between me and you." He said.

"I promise. Now goodnight." I said.

"Goodnight Y/n." He said, and then left.

Even with everything that has happened with me, I took Devin's advice. I looked around me.

Turns out I have so many people that love me. Turns out that I have a family. A place to call my home.
