Chapter 2

He sat in his room in dismay. Ben never felt so rejected. He lied there staring at the ceiling. He didn’t know how he felt- mad? Sad? “UGH.” He punched his pillow. Why doesn’t she like me? I mean, huh, I’m pretty hot. Then, Ben fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Stephanie also sat in her room. She sighed loudly, and fell onto her pillow. Why did I just do that? Ugh, why did Annie and Bonnie have to be there though? I would’ve been totally different...AIGOO! She thought about going over to Ben’s house and apologizing. No, he wouldn’t want to talk to me after that what I did. I’m such a fool. Ben liked me and I kinda like him...and I just ruined it. She closed her eyes and breathed in and out. Okay, tomorrow I’ll come over to his house and do whatever shit comes to mind.

The next day, Stephanie got dressed and walked to Ben’s house. She knocked on the door. Ben appeared at the door. He was wearing his pajamas still. Ben’s eyes widened. He started to close the door because he wasn’t changed but Stephanie said, “Err, no it’s fine, Ben. I just wanted to apologize for my behavior yesterday. I didn’t mean it.”

Ben cracked a small smile. “It’s okay.”

Stephanie didn’t believe his words. “No. It’s not okay. But I do have something to ask...do you still like me?”

“Why.”

“That didn’t sound like a question.”

Ben’s face turned grim. “Fine. Why?”

“Because...I think I’m in love with you too.”

There was an awkward silence.

Both Stephanie and Ben’s faces turned pink.

“Stephanie.” Ben said.

“Yeah?”

“I still love you. I’ll never stop. I used to be a player but, when I saw you, my life changed completely. My mind shunned every other girl I thought I liked and focused on you only. I can never take my mind off of you. You’re the cutest, prettiest, and hottest girl I’ve ever seen. You’ve never disappointed me. That other day, yeah, I was hurt a little but...I dunno. I wasn’t sure if I should’ve been sad or mad. This is all I have to say- don’t leave me.”

Stephanie was speechless. She was so touched by his words. “Ben. I feel the same way. And don’t worry, I’ll never leave you as long as I live. Even if we’re separated, you’ll always be in my heart. Nothing will ever change that. I swear.”

Ben stared long and hard into Stephanie’s eyes. Suddenly, Stephanie felt something on her lips. Ben kissed her. His lips on hers. They closed their eyes and enjoyed the moment. They didn’t want it to end. Ben held her hands. Her skin was soft and warm. Stephanie and Ben cherished their romantic moment together.

After a few more seconds, they stopped. They continued holding hands, though.

“Will you go out with me, Stephanie?” Ben asked.

Stephanie chuckled. “Of course. What would that kiss be for then?”

Little did they know, that Annie and Bonnie were spying at them from the window.

They both smiled a little.

“That was sweet. Our Stephanie,” Bonnie said quietly.

“Yeah. She’s growing up. Quite the relationship they have.” replied Annie.

The sisters’ decided to stop spying on them and leave them on their own. For privacy.

Meanwhile, Stephanie and Ben walked out to the park nearby- holding hands of course. “You promised to never leave me. But what happens in the future?” Ben asked.

“Don’t worry about the future yet. A promise is a promise.” reassured Stephanie.

She squeezed his hand. Ben nodded in agreement. “Okay. I trust you.”
