The closest you had ever gotten to being a star was about seven months ago when you auditioned for the lead female role in a Greg Berlanti movie. You knew now that the movie was 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' and you still hadn't recovered from knowing you could've been co-stars with Ryan Gosling. But, the stars didn't align and you didn't end up his love interest. The casting director for that movie had invited you to a callback which you thought had gone extremely well, but weeks later you saw in some gossip article online that the role had gone to someone else. That someone else being Emma Stone. It didn't shock you. You weren't about to beat out Emma Stone, for crying out loud.

That very specific memory was at the forefront of your mind because you had a sneaking suspicion that you were about to relive it. You were in the waiting room, same as yesterday, and sitting across from you was Rinoa Heartilly. She was just as gorgeous in person as she was on the screen, and it made you wanna throw up. Her long brown hair looked like it never had a knot in it and her light skin was actually flawless. You wondered if the woman even had pores.

You fired another anxious text to Kairi who was at work since she could only get yesterday off. Technically, you were burning through sick days right now.

She was right. As always, Kairi was right. Yuna Bevelle liked something you did yesterday. You had earned your seat here just like Rinoa Heartilly did. Rinoa Heartilly. The actress who has had numerous speaking roles in shows like 'How to Get Away with Murder', 'Manifest', and Netflix's newest season of 'Bridgerton'. That Rinoa Heartilly. No big deal.

It was fine.

Everything was fine.

You forced yourself to slow your breaths and leaned back in your seat in some semblance of relaxation. The room was less crowded compared to yesterday, but it seemed they were keeping people back for longer. Yuna Bevelle had emailed a couple new pages of lines to you last night and you had worked on them drunk and hungover all at the same time. Luckily, it wasn't a lot of lines, and they were fairly easy to memorize.

"Ms. Heartilly?" The guy from yesterday read off a clipboard. Rinoa rose from her seat with a blinding smile and followed him back. It felt like the entire room let out a sigh of relief, but maybe you were just imagining things. You were just happy you could sit here and mentally practice the script without her in your line of vision.
