Y/n's POV:

"Hey Y/n, come over here. I'll bandage your wound." Five says calmly as he stands next to Vanya.

I nod and walk over to them. Five pulls out a bandage wrap and a clean cloth.

He gently pulls my arm closer to his and we stand only a few inches apart from each other. Quite awkward to say the least, but it gives me butterflies.

"Hey, you don't have to, I can treat my own wound." I whisper softly.

"I know. Trust me, I know." Five whispers back, I look up at him and catch him smirking a bit.

As Five bandages my arm Vanya sits down and pours herself a cup of coffee. She asks Five how he survived and how he ate.

"I survived on scraps." Five replies with no expression. I feel so bad for him, he was and is just a kid...

"Canned food, cockroaches... Anything I could find." He chuckles trying to lighten the mood.

He finally looks up at me once he finishes the bandage. We stare into each other's eyes for a moment.

We both blink out of it after a few seconds, both our cheeks red. "Uhm- I'm done.. You may need to re-wrap that later." He informs me, breaking the silence.

"Thank you, Five." I smile. He looks at me again, "Your welcome."

We both take a seat and Five pours himself a cup of coffee, I eat a piece of bread. Hm, not bad.

"You know that rumor that Twinkies have an endless shelf life?" Five asks Vanya, she nods. "Well, it's total bullsh*t." Ok, dark.

"I can't even imagine." Vanya comforts. "You do whatever it takes to survive, or you die." Five replies bluntly.

"So we adapted." He says sharply. "Whatever the world threw at us, we found a way to overcome it."

"We?" Vanya asks.

Five takes a deep inhale and asks, "You got anything stronger?"

Vanya gets up and pours him a glass of alcohol. If I'm being honest, I was never a big fan of alcohol to begin with.

Five takes a gulp of it and sighs harshly, then takes a little laugh.

Vanya looks at him confused, I just sit and read a book I found on her shelf.

"You think I'm crazy." Five chuckles. "No! It's just..." Vanya stammers. "It's a lot to take in."

"Exactly what don't you understand?" Five questions her sharply.

"Why didn't you just time travel back?" Vanya asks stupidly. *No offense to her!*

Five scoffs/sighs and answers sarcastically, "Gee, wish I'd thought of that."

"Time travel is a crapshoot." He snaps. "I went into the ice and never acorn-ed."

"You think I didn't try everything to get back to my family?" He asks her harshly in a more hushed tone.

"If you grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse." Vanya mumbles. "H-How come you still look like a kid?"

Five scoffs at her question. "I told you already."

He sighs harshly and walks over to the counter that has a bottle of wine. "I must have got the equations wrong." He raises his voice, then pours more wine into his cup.

"I-I mean, Dad always used to say that... Time travel could mess up your mind." Vanya informs him. Five continues to pour his drink.

"Well, maybe that's what's happening?" She perks up.
