The seven deadly sins were currently on a so called break. They had been going around Britannia, visiting different places. Ban had suggested a place by The Fairy King's Forest. After he had found out that Elaine had put him under a love spell that Merlin had broken for him, he was feeling much more free. Of course, all of his memories from a month before he entered the forest came back. That's when he remembered her. His first love. She was an Elven and lived in a village by the Fairy King's Forest. He worried that the village was most likely long gone seeing that it had been at least 1,060 years but he could only hope there was something left.
"So Ban! Why exactly are we going to this place?" Meliodas looked at his friend curiously. "I'm looking for an old friend. I promised I would come back the moment I remembered so, I am." Ban saw the puzzled look on all of their faces so he decided it was probably time to explain. "You see, I didn't find the forest all by myself. I needed some directions and what better place to get them then by the village next to the forest. There, I found a town of Elven people. They were kind and pointed me to a house on the top of a hill. They told me that the person who lived there could tell me. Of course, im thinkin this guys gotta be some old wizard or somethin so I strut up there and knock on the door. I was not expecting a girl to answer. She looked my age and she was absolutely beautiful. She had black, curly hair that was down to her lower back. Her eyes were so blue and they had little flicks of gold and green in them. It was like looking at sea glass. She was around Elizabeth's height and she was about the same body shape as her too. Her ears were pointed and had different earrings dangling from them. She wore a blue, silk dress that hugged her perfectly and was split down the sides of her legs. Her name was Evangeline. I think I just kind of stood there staring and lookin like a complete idiot. She gave me a bright smile and said I was probably here for the directions to the Fountain of Youth. I could only shake my head yes and she invited me in. From then on, I stayed with her. She cooked me meals and took care of me. She was the one to teach me how to cook. Everything about her intrigued me. I ended up falling in love with her." Ban stopped and looked over at everyone. They were all leaning in and the girls looked like they we're gonna burst from excitement. He chuckled and continued, "I was scared to tell her. I was pretty sure she felt the same but I wasn't quite sure. When I did, she kissed me and I remember her laughing at how red my face was. I was so happy. We,uh, had a "fun" night and when morning came, I decided it was time for me to take my trip to the tree. I just needed to get the cup and I would bring it back to the both of us. We would both be immortal. I don't think I had ever seen her so scared and sad. She begged me not to go. Saying I wouldn't come back and that I wouldn't get the cup. She doubted my every plan and told me not to go. I asked her if she acted like this to every traveler and she said no. She said I was the only one she'd ever stopped. She said I had to listen to her because no one came back. I wouldn't come back. I ended up shaking her off and leaving with a promise to come back. She told me to come back when I remembered. At the time, I had no clue what she meant. Now I do. She knew I would be put under a spell." Elizabeth, Diane, and Hawk were crying. Meliodas and King sat there wide eyed. Merlin was smirking while Escanor wiped a few small tears. Gowther sat there nodding his head while most likely looking at Ban's memories. Elizabeth spoke while still sniffling, "Sir Ban, that was so sad yet so beautiful. Are you trying to find her after all this time?" Ban sighed and looked out the window. "She may be old now. She may be dead. I just want to find out. I'm hoping that she's alive. I want her to be alive. I want to hold her again. Hear her laugh again."
Everyone jumped when Mama Hawk sat down. Ban immediately started walking to the door while the rest of the sins followed. He saw the familiar river that led up to the village. He walked along it as the sins conversed with each other. They had been walking for about 10 minutes when they heard a voice. "Yo! Ban is that you man?" Ban looked at the figure running at them and realized it was one of the kids he used to see in the village. "Timothy it's you! You're all grown up now!" Timothy gave Ban a hug and looked at him. "And you haven't changed a bit. Does that mean you're immortal?!" Ban laughed loudly and shook his head yes. Timothy smiled widely and looked Ban directly in the eyes. He spoke the same line he spoke to him all those years ago. "If you're looking for directions, you should go to the house on the hill." Ban's eyes widened as he stepped forward. Timothy just laughed and started walking to the village. Ban immediately caught up to him while the rest of the sins attempted to catch up to them. He started walking through the village and immediately started recognizing people. Some said hi to him while others gave him hugs. "Oh! Ban! I'm sure you remember Lily. She's my wife now." Ban hugged the familiar purple haired girl and smiled at the both of them. "Congratulations! I always knew you two would end up together. I always rooted for the enemies to lovers." The couple laughed.
Ban then looked up the hill to the house. It looked the same way it had looked the day he left. He started walking there and before he knew it, he was at the beginning of the stone pathway through the garden to the door. There, among all of the flowers, stood a girl. She was picking through flowers when she felt the presence of someone. "Let me guess, you're looking for dir-." Her sentenced cut short when she finally turned to look at the person. She dropped the flowers she was holding and threw her hands over her mouth. Ban couldn't believe it. She hadn't aged one bit. Everyone else had though. He knew Elven people aged very slowly but she hadn't aged at all. He saw people who were his age then that at least had some small wrinkles now. She slowly walked towards him and he did the same. She stopped in front of him and looked up. Tears were streaming down her face and Ban reached his hand to her face to wipe them. She gasped at his touch. She immediately threw her arms around him and he hugged her tight while burying his face in her hair. He inhaled her scent. Baby's-Breath, blueberries, and vanilla. He felt tears of his own fall but he didn't care. He was holding her again. He heard the squeals from Elizabeth snd Diane. "I remembered, Angel." The nickname he had given her. It was already in her name so he decided that because she was also an angel, he would use it. She laughed and he swore his heart pounded even harder. "I thought you never would. I'm so happy your back, Foxy." It was Ban's turn to laugh now, "Ya know, it's ironic that you gave me that nickname and now my sin is the Fox sin of Greed." She pulled back and looked him over, gasping when she saw the mark of a sin. She lightly touched it with her fingers and Ban shivered. He could see the conflict in her eyes. "I'm guessing you got ahold of the cup." She looked up at him again, a sad smile on her lips. "Sure did and as you can tell, I haven't aged at all. You haven't either. What's up with that huh?" Evangeline looked away and sighed. She turned back and looked him in the eyes. "You were greedy for immortality. I wanted so badly to tell you that it wasn't a blessing. It was nothing but a curse. You see, every 300 years, there is an Elven born with immortality. I was that Elven. When I met you Ban, it was the first time I felt love. You drew out all of these feelings in me and I was scared if I told you I was immortal, it would make you want the Fountain of Youth even more. I wanted to love you for as long as I could and then I would let you go so you could have a real life. You didn't stop your conquest though. I was going to tell you the day you left but, I didn't. I could only hope you actually got ahold of the cup and came back to me or you gave up and came back. I knew the moment you gave up, Elaine would release you of your spell. Then, you never came back and the demon attacked. I thought you had died. I was devastated and yet, I still waited out here every morning in hopes that you would come home." She was crying again and Ban was wiping the tears away. He understood where she was coming from. She wanted to protect him and he didn't listen. "I wanted to come back to you Angel. I was and still am in love with you. I can only hope you can still accept me." He let tears fall down and he felt her soft hands cup his face and wipe them away. "I've waited 1,000 years for you. I will always love you." He slipped his hands around her waist and smashed his lips against hers. It was almost magical the way it felt. She let out a small sigh again his lips and she put her forehead on his. "I love you, Ban." Ban smirked and hugged her closer. "I love you too, Evangeline."
