"Avelina..." Called out Daniel only to find out that she had fallen asleep
He then drove to one of his own hotels. Booked one of the best suites for Avelina and let her have the night there.
He drove to Ava who was waiting at Daniel's house with Lila. Lila was Lola's twin sister. Lila had visited Daniel. When he got there. The girls had a pedicure. Daniel was at the door as none of them noticed him
"I would have loved for my mom to be here. I mean she really needs this as she isn't just a mom to me she is also a dad as my dad died and an older sister to Ashley. She needs a day to rest" said Ava
"Your dad passed on" asked Lila
"Yes. He was fighting for our country" she said with a smile
"When was this" asked Lila
"According to my mom. I was still 8 months in her belly. That is why she couldn't give me a natural birth because of the tress meaning that she might have killed me" she said
"How do you know all this?" Asked Lila
"Me and my mom are close." She replied
"How old is your mom" she asked
"19+7" that was all Ava said.
"What" asked Lila confused
"My mum was 19 when she had me and I am turning 7 years old this year" she said
"So she is 26. You are turning 7 this year?" Asked Lila
"Yes" she replied with a big smile
"When" asked Lila
"In 2 weeks time. I know my mom won't let it slide." She said
"Oh okay." Said Lila
"So you and your da-... You and my brother had a lot of fun today" asked Lila almost forgetting
"Yes. I am scared though. I mean my mom doesn't allow me out after 2 unless I am at work with her or with Ashley. She hadn't texted me or called. I am guessing she is at the police station right now. She will be frustrated when she sees the iPad. She never wanted me to have a phone. She wants me to focus" she said
"Do you want to phone and check on your mom. You can use my phone" offered Lila
"Yes please" nodded Ava excitedly. She hadn't see her mom since the event today
"That won't be necessary" said Daniel from behind
"Why? Did you talk to her?" Asked Ava
"Yes. She was in a meeting and she came back late so she booked a hotel" said Daniel
"So unlike her. Either she is at Sammy's apartment but she would have called though" said Ava
"Who is Sammy?" The both asked
"Sammy is my mom's boyfriend well I think they are going to get married because I saw a ring in mom's bag" said Ava
"Oh well congratulations" Said Lila. "Tell your mom that"
"I will. We all like Sammy" said Ava
"No don't tell your mom that. Tell me how many people have your mom been with ever since m- ever since your dad" asked Daniel
"I don't know. I think only Sammy as most people only love her and not me so she immediately says no" she said
"Why isn't my mom calling atleast. She always calls when she will go to a meeting. We have our own lucky charm call that we use when writing a test or in a difficult situation. She would definitely call. Are you sure or is that what she told you?" Asked Ava
"I am sure" ensured Daniel
"Okay"
When the girls were done they went to Lila's bedroom.
"Okay I don't have pajamas your size so you will wear my top" said Lila giving out a top
"It is fine" said Ava taking in the top that reached to her knees
They wore it and went to watch a movie
"Do you have Netflix?" Asked Lila
"No and yes. I do but I am only allowed to use it during the school holidays and only when I get above 75%" said Ava
"What percent did your mom use to get"
"Not lower than 95 in high school. She never finished college because she had me when she was writing her finals. They didn't allow pregnant people. So she had to stay home and take care of me. I wish I came a year later when she was working" said Ava
"Ohh Okay. Yous seem to be found of your mom. But know that your arrival on earth wasn't a mistake. You were and always will be a special gift from above" said Lila
"Thank you" She said hugging her. All this happens with Daniel witnessing.
"What do you want to watch?" Asked Lila
"I am more of a person that likes mystery and murder so action movies and one with spies in it. Only me and Ashley watch that. My mom is afraid of blood and all that" said Ava
Daniel chuckled deeply but loud enough to be heard
"Keeping up with the Joneses. It is a spy movie. Action and mystery" said Lila
"Yes" shouted Ava.
Daniel went to sit on the sofa with the girls and join them
20 minutes later Ava was asleep on Daniel's lap. The way they bonded it was as if Ava knew that he was her dad.
Daniel had a room prepared for her. He lifted her to the room and laid her carefully on the bed.
