Our Game
The thought of what could've happen,
Brings unshed tear to my eyes;
Won't let them drop and make my mood dampen-
For my tears are not worthy of your filthy lies.
The flower you gave started to wilt
As the remaining sand in the hourglass start to fade.
Running away made my heart seep in guilt,
But it vanished as soon as I remembered I was played.
I'm tired of playing this game;
Our game of hide and seek.
I'm sure it will never be the same,
And it's like a hard slap across my cheek.
Maybe this was all a mistake.
Maybe we were never meant to be.
My heart continues to ache and break,
But it's time to set you free.
