Ah-Xiang and Luo Fumeng stand side by side as they wait for Wen Kexing to grace him with their presence. The dark fae is over an hour late and midnight has long passed, which makes both women even more agitated.

When Wen Kexing emerges, it's like the atmosphere around them is unsettling. The air around them becomes heavy and everyone's hair stands on edge.

Something was indeed wrong.

"A-Xing what's wrong?" Asked his Luo-yi, voice filled with concern.

The dark fae sent a strong pulse of magic down to the forest floor, instantly scorching the green grass and small flowers nearby. He wanted to drain blood out of whomever was closest and everyone stepped back. His scarlet eyes reflected sadness and anger. The crushing weight of his despair felt by everyone. All Wen Kexing could think of was his Ah-Xu dying in his arms, forever lost to an eternal slumber that he would never wake up from.

And all he could do was blame himself. His stupid, arrogant self for doing this.

After a moment's pause when it looked like the dark fae had somewhat composed himself Ah-Xiang tried, "Master? Please, what troubles you?"

"I can't let Ah-Xu die." His voice broke and he hated himself for showing weakness. Hated how hard it was for him to voice the truth.

"A-Xing, what can you do? The curse is irreversible, you even said so." The silver-white haired woman let her face falter in sadness. Wen Kexing, practically her son, as she raised him, didn't deserve this pain. What had this poor soul done to deserve this?

"Then I will tear this world apart and BURN it to ashes to find a cure." He snarled with pure venom dripping off his tongue. Yes, he had to. He had to try to save his Ah-Xu. And if he didn't, he would bury the dagger in his own chest right beside his beloved. For if his soulmate is gone, death is nothing to fear.

Wen Kexing tries so hard to not see Zhou Zishu. He really did as it was his punishment. But when the dark fae didn't let the prince into the Moors he grew desperate.

By the third day of silence, Zhou Zishu had it.

Stubborn as hell, he pushes his way through the roots, fighting against the thorns. He ignored the burning scratches and the blood running down his arms and legs. He demanded to know why Wen Kexing didn't greet him at the border.

Those two days when he didn't see the charismatic dark fae were bleak. He didn't seem to realize how much he enjoyed talking to Wen Kexing. How it had become a habit to spend his nights with him. How much he longed for his endless teasing and flirting.

Zhou Zishu was in love with Wen Kexing. No matter how hard he tried to deny it, he was. And it was fast and sudden, frightening yet delightful. He could only describe it as if his heart broke free from his cage. Wen Kexing was his freedom, his home, his person .

Not bearing to see his zhiji suffer anymore, Wen Kexing sprinted into the wall, the thorns instantly parting for him as he ran to him and swept him in his arms. He used his body to shield him, not allowing the sharp thorns to touch his pale skin again.
