The outcome was inevitable. I knew that. But even then, it hurt.
"What do you mean you like boys?" My father demanded. I remained quiet.
"Answer me! Are you trying to make a fool out of me? TALK!"
I could feel the all too familiar pain squeezing my heart until I couldn't breathe. But this time, I wasn't going to let it win.
"I'm your son," I murmured.
"What?"
"I'm gay, and I'm your son. And neither of those things are going to change. Okay? So let's deal with that!" I said, with all the fight left in me.
