River is a very ambitious undercover detective and quite frankly, very good at their job. When a mysterious note shows up one day at their door containing a request, and a very bone chilling one at that, their career takes a different path. They wan...
I poured my morning coffee, a daily routine that I followed quite often, and pulled the book I was currently reading off of the bookshelf in my living room. I took a seat in the old, worn, green recliner chair situated by the window, and sipped my coffee as I watched people walk by my apartment, going about their day. I like to play this game where I would make up stories in my head about these people, a favorite pastime of mine. Just as I was about to create an elaborate story about a guy with a very bushy mustache that probably drank lots of tea, there was a loud knock on my door. I startled a bit, not expecting someone to be knocking on my door at 6:00 A.M. I placed my coffee down on the small wooden table next to the recliner, along with my book, and made my way to the door, turning the handle. To my surprise no one was there, which gave me a slightly eerie feeling. I look around but stop suddenly as I noticed a small letter on my doormat, the envelope looking worse for wear. I picked up the small envelope which appeared to have no address on it or anything, just my name scrawled on it in red ink "River Thomas." I hesitantly opened it, having been a detective for a few years now, I knew to be weary of unmarked envelopes that just show up randomly at you door. I peeled back the flap and winced as I looked inside, I guess I was expecting a bomb or maybe even some weird substance of drug to be it's contents, but to my relief it was just a slip of paper. I pulled the slip out of the envelope, and what was written on it chilled me to the bone.

I chew on my lip, lost in thought. The most bone chilling part of it all is their knowledge of my past employment at Fazbear's, even I don't remember or know much about my past there, a memory problem, as my doctor has assumed. What horrible things? I had heard the rumors surrounding Fazbear Entertainment and the supposed murders but I had just assumed that it was all just speculation because the bodies were never found and no evidence could be tied back to the company. And how did this person even know where I lived? Was I being stalked? And why did they need my help? Yes I was good at my job but I'm sure there were other detectives or maybe even the police who could have taken on this job, if this person had suspicions and an actual concern. I held the note in my hand, staring at it as I paced back and forth around my kitchen, before finally deciding to call the head of my department, Racheal.
She picks up the phone, a light and peppy attitude in her voice as always. "Hello detective Thomas, how may I assist you?"
I don't respond for a few minuets, still staring speechless at the note.
"Hello? Detective Thomas??" She calls out in concern.
I snap out of my panicked trance and respond, fumbling over my words. "Um yeah sorry...I have a um...interesting case to report..."
After explaining the whole note to her and after her asking me a few questions I decide to ask, "So what do you think I should do? These are some very serious accusations here."
She pauses in thought for a bit.
"I think you should go through with it." She responds confidently and a little bit intrigued by the case itself.
I stand there shocked. "Are you serious? I mean this could really just be some crazy prank from a teenager, we don't really know if any of these accusations are true-" She cuts me off.
"Thomas, this same company has been accused of many heinous crimes in the past, and even though they were never charged with anything and there was no concrete evidence tying them to it, does not mean they did not commit those crimes. We've delt with cases like that in the past, and now you have a lead who seems to be convinced that they know something about these murders and missing children, wouldn't you want to solve the case and be able to put those children's parents minds at ease and give them the clarity that they deserve?" She makes a compelling point, one that I unfortunately can't ignore. I sigh, "Fine, but just don't be too hopeful, like you said, there's never been any evidence before but hopefully I'll be able to find it if there is any." I can just feel her smiling from the other side of the phone. "Thanks Thomas, I'll be looking forward to your future reports, as of now, this will be your primary focus and mission. Goodluck detective." And then she signs off.
I sigh again. I guess I have a big day tomorrow, and a job to interview for. Oh boy.
END OF PART 1~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
