It was a Monday afternoon, A boy named Ved just got home from school. "Hey Ved! How was school?" Ved's mom said greeting him at the door. Ved took his bookbag off and threw it onto the couch. "It was alright I suppose. Those assholes bullied me again." Ved said falling over onto the couch. "Oh I'm sorry honey." Ved's mom said rubbing his head. Ved sat up from the couch and walked over to the white basket full of toys that was sitting in the corner of the living room. Ved pulls out a red ball and tosses it into the air. "Can I go outside and toss this around?" Ved asked. Ved's mom pointed at the bedroom door. "Only if you bring Devon with you." Ved's mom said smiling. Ved's face immediately became sour. "Why do I need to bring Devon? I just want time to myself." Ved asked upset. Ved's mom stood up quickly. "Because he is your little brother and you need to do more things with him." Ved's mom said walking into the kitchen. Ved slowly walked over to the bedroom door. "Fine." Ved said opening the door. Devon was laying down on his bed playing on his tablet listening to music. "Devon." Ved said out. Ved got no response. "Devon!" Ved said even louder. Still no response from Devon. Ved walks over to Devon and slaps his leg. "Devon!" Ved says once more. "I hear you, I hear you. What's up?" Devon said taking his headphones off. Ved tosses the ball up into the air. "Wanna go outside and throw the ball around?" Ved asked politely. Ved was positive Devon would've put up a fight to stay inside on his tablet but he was surprised by Devon's answer. "Sure, I'll play with you, I'm bored anyway." Devon replied sitting up from the bed. "It was that easy?" Ved thought to himself. Devon and Ved both put on dirty clothes since they like to get messy when they play outside. "Alright we're out." Ved said to his mom walking to the door. "Okay, you two be safe." Ved's mom said waving goodbye to Devon and Ved. Ved and Devon both run outside and into the field. There was a forest and a pathway that led straight into the next part of the town surrounding the field. Ved and Devon toss the ball around for about 30 minutes before Devon throws the ball a little too hard and it flies into the forest. "Oh come on!" Ved said out loud frustrated. Devon runs up to Ved. "I'm sorry Ved, I didn't mean to." Devon says. Ved starts walking towards the forest. "It's fine, I'll get it since I know you don't like the forest." Ved said moving bushes out of the way and entering the forest. "I can't believe I'm traveling through this stupid forest trying to find a ball that Devon of all people threw in here." Ved thought to himself. Ved walks around inside the forest for about 5 minutes and finds himself standing in front of a strange gate. "Hey,there's the ball." Ved said looking past the gate. The ball was sitting past the gate next to a strange looking puddle. Ved begins to climb over the gate and walk towards the ball. "Gotcha, you little bastard." Ved said to himself. When Ved turns around to climb over the fence again, a spider crawls onto his hand causing him to freak out and fall into the puddle beneath him. "Oh god, holy shit get it off me!" Ved said scrambling around in the puddle. Ved sat up from the puddle soaking wet. "Ah hell, im soaked now." Ved said standing up from the puddle. Ved once again starts to climb over the fence but this time, no spider was found. Ved makes it out of the forest and sees Devon off in the distance. Devon runs over and grabs the ball from Ved. "Yo, you alright? You're soaked!" Devon said questioning Ved. "I fell into a puddle of water while trying to find the ball. Let's head back home. I need to shower and put on a fresh pair of clothes." Ved said walking back to his house.
