once there were two ten year old girls called sunshine and winter. they both had long blonde hair and they were identical twins.
you may be wondering why they are called summer and winter. when winter was born she was constantly surrounded by cold conditions and her skin was always cold and rarely warm. this was due to a medical condition that winter had called winter bite that she had gotten from her parents genetics so they only found it logical to name her after her disease even though not all parents think that way.
The story of sunshine is very similar. she actually lived a pretty ordinary life right up until she was three. one day sunshine's mum was cooking cookies and like any child sunshine was extremely excited to taste the cookies so without thinking she stuck her hand into the hot oven and as you can predict she got badly burned. In fact it was so bad it became a permanent addition to her skin.
A burn that she thought was only going to remain on her arm over time spread to the rest of her body including her face.
it spread from her face to her hair, at first her hair was red but it slowly turned golden like sunshine. that was the reason her name was given to her. however not everything that came with this name was good. it also came with some bullying and torment.
she was constantly getting pushed over by boys at her school. people would pull her hair or make comments like 'Sunshine when's the rain coming?' or 'hey goldie where's darkness'?
People would even pour buckets of water all over her just to destroy her hair.
she felt very lonely and sad. luckily something was about to come through to her. winter came to sunshine's school in term 2 as she had just moved to the area. very quickly the exact same pattern was happening to winter by the same kids.
they would put pieces of crumbled paper in her hair and pour buckets on her head.
one thursday morning before school had started sunshine saw Winter once again getting bullied.
'Hey stop it she doesn't deserve that' yelled sunshine.
' what are you gonna do about it goldie'? laughed the boys.
'I'm gonna keep yelling at you until you stop' shouted sunshine.
'alright alright geez' said the boys annoyed walking away.
'are you okay?asked sunshine compassionly
'yeah i'm just sad said winter crying.
'don't worry they treat me like that too i'll be here for you said sunshine
thank you said winter.
And in that moment winter felt safe with sunshine, finally someone in her life was kind and actually cared how she was feeling.
Sunshine also felt quite and content with winter. she felt warmth and coziness.
