Two brothers enlist in 1970
Thinking they were doing the right thing
Bringing honor to their family
You wouldn't believe the things they've seenThey were treated like animals
But trained like machines
Expected when to jump when ordered, speak when spoken to and shoot anything in sight
Burn down every village flammable
Cautious on patrol, to prevent a firefightThese brothers, fought side by side
Refused to be without the other
Promising each other that they'd be just fine
Afraid to lose the otherWatched fellow soldiers die
When they've never seen death before
After a while, death seemed fine
Because they were in a war that couldn't be ignoredHappy birthday, the older brother turns 18 in Vietnam
But a birthday can't make everything stop
1971, the Brothers go home. They seem calm
But in their minds, they saw dead faces they couldn't stopSaid war isn't something you want
But that they'd do it all over again
Cause even we have an idea with what they went through
Said that they grew up the most in VietnamThey appreciated everything given to them, head to toe
They were grateful for their loved ones
They grew up, had families, got jobs and bought homes
Trying to ignore what they've doneAnd future generations
