Your Perspective

I was working at the diner. It was another boring, stressful day. My life is pretty dull. But today, something, or someone, made my life so colorful. I found him. I found the one. He was sitting at one of the booths drinking a milk shake. He was staring at his phone minding his own business. I guess he felt someone staring at him because he turned his head and looked at me. At first, he seemed annoyed. But then his eyes widened. He looked at me with aww. Could he feel it too? That we are meant to be? He looked away then looked back as if he couldn't believe his eyes. I stared and smiled at him. He smiled back and gave a little wave. I waved back. His face was lightly dusted with a shade of pink. He was flustered as if he has never had someone so beautiful stare at him before.

"(Y/n)??"

I jumped and turned to see who said my name. It was TK. He looked at me strangely.

"You seemed to be having a staring contest with a customer. You good?"

I laughed a little awkwardly.

"Yeah, I'm fine. He just looks nice is all."

TK looked at him with a curious expression.

"okaayyy..."

He didn't seem to know what to say. I turned and looked at the man again, who was glaring at TK. I guess He didn't like TK interrupting our googly eyes at each other. I smiled awkwardly at him. He seemed to lighten up when I smiled at him. He smiled back, getting lost in my eyes. TK spoke.

"Just don't get too distracted from work. We don't want the boss to get mad."

I turned and nodded at him. TK can be annoying sometimes. I know he has a crush on me. It bothers me sometimes. But it has its perks. He will cover for me when I'm running late. He gives me things and is mostly nice to me. TK walked off. But I don't need what he has. I just want to know more about the man at the table. I walked towards the table and the man seemed to perk up.

"Hello! I noticed you and I wanted to get to know you."

He laughed in excitement.

"I would like to get to know you too."

I pulled out my phone and opened up a new contact space for him to put his number.

"Here, put your number on my phone. Maybe we can hang out when I'm not working."

I laughed at the last part. It would be a little difficult to hang out while I'm working without getting fired. He put his number under the name "Boyfriend". I laughed and smiled at him. He seemed very pleased with himself. He's so dreamy, I swear.

"I can't wait. My name is (Y/n) by the way."

"Oh! my name-"

He cut himself off.

"I don't really like my name. How about you give me a nickname."

I frowned at him. He winced at my frown.

"Why don't you like your name?"

"It's ugly. You probably wouldn't like me very much anymore if you knew it."

"I'm sure your name is fine. But if it really makes you uncomfortable, I guess I can give you a nickname."

He smiled sweetly and nodded. I sat and thought, looking at him for inspiration. I looked deep into his eyes. Then I had it. His eyes! like lapis lazuli! It's beautiful! I gasp at the excitement I feel for the nickname. I squeal. He seemed very interested and happy for my excitement.
