'Where am I? What is this place?'
I look around, and I'm surrounded by swirling dark clouds. A wind blew, and the clouds began to take shape. A pirate ship sailed past me.
The clouds changed again to what looked like a mansion with one lit window. Thunder rolled, and lightening strikes, and a howling was heard.
Then the clouds changed again to what looked like a dragon breathing fire on a knight with a sword and shield.

I jolted awake at the sound of my annoying alarm clock. I reach over shutting it off, then I sit up. That was a really weird dream. I look at the time and it said 7:30 am. I still have a few hours before I leave for home. I shrugged getting out of bed. Might as well start packing. It was finally vacation break, and I'm heading home. They'll be in for a surprise.
My name is (Y/n) (M/n) Tyler. I'm nineteen years old. I have a mom named Claire, a dad named Alan, and a ten year old brother named Richard. Or Richie for short. He's a smart kid, but also has a great fear of...everything.
At one time, my dad signed him up for little league baseball. And all Richie did was drive everyone crazy with a lecture of injuries you could get if you're hit on the head with a ball. And shinsplints, that are supposed to protect your legs, can cause blood clots if tightened too much. Now my dad is building him a tree house in our backyard, in a tree that he refuses to climb. Heck, he won't even eat mom's tuna fish sandwiches because of the mercury levels in fish. Even the kids in our neighborhood tease him because he has all these safety stuff on his bike.
He even tried to convince me to not go to college. Break ins, food poisoning, diseases, bullies, he'll pretty much say anything to get me to stay home. And the college was only four hours away.
Don't get me wrong, I love my little brother with all my heart. We're like two peas in a pod. But his fears prevent him from doing anything a kid his age should be doing, or us going anywhere as a family. I can't remember the last time we went on vacation together.
As I'm driving, I see clouds roll in and it gets darker. Looks like a storm is brewing. A big one. I get to a tunnel leading to my house. It's pouring when I get to the other side. No way I'm driving through this, so I decided to find shelter until it passes. Luckily to my left was the entry way to the towns local library. So, I drive in. I would go there often to read, study, or help the librarian around the place.
I park at the entrance and hurry out to get inside. I see a familiar bright yellow bike, safety vest, and helmet. This was all Richards stuff. What is he doing way out here? Is he by himself? I rush inside to go find him. I brush myself off, then see the old librarian at the front desk. I smile and go greet him.
"Mr. Dewey!"
He looked up, and smiled. "Well if it isn't (Y/n) Tyler. My favorite bookworm. What happened to college?" He joked.
"Summer break. I was on my way home, but got caught in the storm. Mind if I hang here until it passes?"
"Of course. Stay as long as you need to."
"Thanks." I go to leave into the library, but turn back to the librarian. "Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. Did you happen to see a boy come in here? Blonde hair, with glasses, his name's Richard?"
"Ah, yes. Richard Tyler." He says as he points to a corridor. "He went to the pay phone. I'm sure you know where that is."
"Thanks again." I say as I walk through the library. I turn around a corner, and there he was wandering the aisles.
"Richard." I called. He looks back at me in surprise. I open my arms to him. "How you doing little brother?"
Then he smiles, and rushes to me. Wrapped his arms around my waist in a hug.
"(Y/n)! You're back!" He says as he let's me go. "What are you doing here? I thought you were at college."
"Summer break. Surprised?" He nodded. "What are you doing here by yourself?"
"Dad told me to go to the hardware store for a pound of nails. Then I got caught in the storm. I'm looking for the phone to call them."
"Hate to burst your bubble, little brother, but I doubt the phone would work in this storm."
"Or can't you drive us home?"
"I would, if I could, but I can't. I've never driven through rain this heavy before."
Richard sighs in disappointment. I put an arm around his shoulder. "It'll be okay, Rich. The library's not so bad. Come on, I'll show you around."
We continued walking until we get to a large open area with a compass on the floor, and five paintings on the ceiling. It was one of my favorite things to look at every time I came here.
"Wow." Richard awed.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" I say as we looked to the ceiling.
The first painting was a brave knight battling a ferocious fire breathing dragon. The second one was Long John Silver The third one was Captain Ahab hunting the white whale, Moby Dick.
"Geez." Richard muttered as he looked at the forth painting. It's a man named Dr. Henry Jeckle, who tampers with the dark side of science to release a persons inner being. Hence where his own alter ego, Mr. Edward Hyde, was born.
My most favorite part of this painting was the one in the middle. It looked like a wizard dressed in blue, long white hair and beard, he was holding a book, and had a staff that looked like a scroll. It was as if he was the one who keeps everything in balance for these stories.
A Pagemaster.
As I'm thinking of this, we both suddenly slip on the wet spots, and hit the floor hard. Everything spins then goes black.

FanfictionThis story is based off of the Pagemaster movie from 1994. If anybody grew up in the 90's, this maybe nostalgic for y'all. I don't own anything except for the older sister in this story.
