The rain picked up in its pace and soon, it began pouring down heavily. Deep within a forest was a large house. Through a window of said house, gazed out a small boy, no older than 5. The main features of the boy were rather simple, save for his pointy brown hair and red cap with stubby gold horns as well as a very peculiar looking necklace with a hanging from it.

Any other person would think this boy was just admiring the rain, but the red haired woman looking at the boy from behind knew this wasn't the case.

Shino Sosaki, aka Mandalay, knew her nephew's reason for looking out into the vastness. He used to do it all the time with his father.

After a few minutes, Kota slowly pulled away from the window and walked off to his room, his gaze glued to the floor at all times.

In his room, Kota layed on his bed and stared up at the ceiling, the sound of the rain still continuing. His room was very plain and empty. The walls were a plain white, and the floor had one small, red rug. There was a single shelf in his room, containing a few Tokusatsu-esque kaiju action figures and one very broken and abused All Might action figure. One of his gravity defying hair pieces was broken off, and pain all of the figure looked like it was scratched off from severe amounts of brute force rather than regular play. In one corner was a desk and a few books for Kota to study, and that was it.

Kota's eyes were still locked on the ceiling, but his mind was elsewhere. All Kota could think of was the news report. The way that they said that his mother and father were dead. Then, they showed him. That monster. The one who took them from him. It was all so haunting. So terrifying. Sometimes, Kota would hear a loud noise at night, and he'd just stay frozen in fear that he had returned. That he was here to finish the job.

The rain continued to pour down. Second by second, the sound became unbearable for the boy.

"Shut up!" He shouted at the window, hoping the weather would obey his command, but to no avail.

He grabbed his pillow and bent it so that it cover his ears, trying to block out the noise as much as possible, yet he could still hear it. Tears began welling up and streaming down his face, as he let out a sob. Letting go of one side of the pillow, he lifted up the necklace. His teary face was reflected on the clean metal of the key.

"Momma...Papa...why'd you go?" He whispered to himself, eyes focused directly on the key as he let go of the other side of the pillow. On the other side of his room, Shino listened in on her nephew. She wanted nothing more than to rush in and hug him. To tell him it'd all be alright. But how could she? At this point it was unclear what would be alright or not.

That afternoon, the rain continued, drowning out all of Kota's sobs.
