Twelve year old Xavier stood in the backyard of his house, holding an umbrella and watching a certain light blue-haired girl splashing in puddles, resulting in getting her clothes all wet.
"Mizu, you are not going to get any younger by jumping in puddles." Xavier bluntly pointed out, rolling his eyes.
Sticking out her tongue at him, Mizu spoke. "Come on Xavier. You are missing out the fun."
"At least put on a raincoat and boots if you want to splash in the puddles." Xavier voiced. He was simply concerned nothing more than that. Mizu may be a Water elemental but that doesn't say anywhere that she won't catch a cold or fever by splashing in puddles in the rain.
Sighing to himself since he knew full well that speaking to her and reasoning with her is futile when she is having her fun, he got inside the house from the backdoor. Within ten minutes he was out wearing a pair of raincoat and boots and had a pair in his hands.
"Here you go.." He tossed them to Mizu who caught them.
She knew full well that Xavier would continue nagging her until she wears the raincoat and the boots. Defeated she quickly went inside while Xavier discarded the umbrella, now that he had the raincoat. Soon Mizu emerged wearing the blue raincoat Xavier had fetched for her.
"Hey Xavier.." Mizu called out, earning the attention of the black-haired male. She didn't say anything which made the male even more curious. When he got a little more closer, she splashed him with water she had collected in the rain collector. "Surprise!"
Xavier blinked twice as water ran drown his raincoat. A playful crept on his face before a war of water splashing enraged. This continued for a couple of minutes before both of them burst out laughing.
"That was fun, just like old times.." Mizu commented, lying down on the grass, not really caring if her clothes were going to get wet. Then again her clothes were already wet to begin with.
"Yeah. Sometimes I wish we can go back to being kids." Xavier spoke. Things had changed for the worse after his father's death and his youngest sister's disappearance. Things just were the same anymore.
That's more the reason he cherished small moments like this where he doesn't need to worry about anything else and can be his own person.
"Yeah having fun and not worrying about anything.." Mizu added.
"Still I am glad we could do this again.." Xavier spoke, staring up at the sky as he lay down beside the blue-haired girl.
Mizu grinned, laying her head on Xavier's shoulder. starring at the night sky. The rain stopped some minutes later. The two stayed in this position until Mizu's elder sister called out for her.
"Let's do this again sometime.." With that Mizu placed a kiss on his cheek before dashing off at a faster speed than the fastest human being. She can't allow herself to be seen with Xaiver, especially not by her sister. She might have his head the very next moment.
"Sure thing..." Xavier sat there, rubbing the spot where she kissed him, a regretful expression on his face. Today is his last night here before he heads out to find his sister and also the person who murdered his father. The desire for revenge was overwhelming and there is no option but to go through it.
Which was more the reason why he chose to spend the remaining time with those he cherishes from the bottom of his heart. He doesn't whether he will see them again or not. But this last meeting will keep him going and constantly remind him of the fact that there are people waiting for him back home. That alone will be his strength to overcome all hurdles he will be facing in the future.
