I personally enjoy listening to weirdcore when i read, so enjoy this videos music if you're into that kind of thing! Happy reading! :DY/N flopped onto her soft bed, sighing loudly. The school day had completely drained her. All of the assignments, the random quiz in math, and worst of all, dealing with the other students. It's not that she hates the other students, or even that they hate her. She just found it hard to talk to them. They all seemed so comfortable together, laughing and poking fun at each other. Y/N wanted to talk to them, but every time she thought about actually speaking to anyone, she felt her anxiety well up in her chest. The hot, constricting sensation of fear would grip her lungs, making breathing difficult. Her heart would start drumming in her chest like it was trying to play thrash metal. (Any metal enjoyers in the chat? :D) So, as soon as the idea would come to her, she would throw it away. Anything to avoid that suffocating feeling of social anxiety.
She couldn't stand her anxiety. After all, once she got over the initial meeting phase, she was perfectly comfortable talking to people. She was even comfortable acting goofy! She missed having that kind of connection with others.
She had moved to this small town about a month ago. It was a cool little town, everyone seemed to know each other. One would think that would be a good thing, however for Y/N, it was her worst nightmare. Talking to new people was one thing, but talking to new people who have known each other for years and are already close? HELL NAH! AndBeing the new girl who shows up in the middle of senior year? She might as well just die!
It wasn't all bad though. The small town had an amazing comic store which supplied manga. Y/N, as a qualified weeb, was ecstatic when she found this out. But that wasn't even the best part. The store had an entire section dedicated to JoJo's bizarre adventure! (Y/N may or may not have made an audible squeak when she saw it!) As soon as she approached the shelf ( so you're approaching me?!?) she instantly started scanning the shelfs for any copies of her favorite part. To her delight, there was the complete collection of Vento Aureo! Her wallet was emptied in seconds.
Remembering the books next to her bed, Y/N rolled onto her side and lazily reached for the precious hardcover mangas.
JoJo has always been a major comfort to Y/N. It reminded her of her friends from back home. Her friend Zane got her into the show initially, after begging her to watch it. After months she caved. That, in her opinion, was the best decision she ever made. She found the characters endearing, and the story captivating. It became her favorite escape. She found herself imagining what her stand would be like! Would she even have a stand? What does it feel like to hug her favorite characters? What are their little habits? These were the things she would think about before falling asleep.
"It's been a while since I've read or watched the whole of Part 5, might as well do that now." She murmured to herself, smiling with anticipation.
She cracked open the book, smelling that amazing new book smell. She immediately started admiring the amazing artwork.
"Damn Araki, your work is even better in physical form!" she gushed under her breath as she flipped the pages.
She put the beautiful book down and turned on her favorite playlist, which consisted of JJBA openings and closings, as well as some of the iconic character themes. She began to bop her head as she settled into a comfortable position. Glancing up at her wall and making eye contact with her Part 5 wall scroll. Buctiratti and Giorno stared into her soul.
"The heck you guys looking at?!?" she joked as she stared right back at them.
Turning her music up a bit she settled in, and began reading. Each page brought a smile to her face.
"Gosh I love these characters. Curse reality and it's stupid characters not being real shit"
She wished more than ever at this moment that these characters could be real. Or even, that she could be in their world. Rolling her eyes at her wishful thinking, she scolded herself for getting her hopes up. Shaking her head she began to read once again. The lonelieness was starting to get to her...
After hours of reading, she felt her eyes begin to grow heavy. Her long day of school and interacting with people she was scared of was catching up to her. Without realizing it, she began to fall asleep. Not only that, but fall asleep right on top of her manga! (ya'll know where this is going hehe)
A bright flash, and the sensation of falling took over her body. Wind whipped her face causing her H/L hair to fly in all directions.
"Ah crap, not another falling dream"
She slowly opened her eyes, not to see the typical falling dream setting, but a bright blue sky. "Well at least this is pretty"
She then glanced behind her, causing a gasp to burst out of her mouth.
She had expected to see more sky, or maybe even a bottomless abyss that she was falling towards. But no, It was a city. And this city looked awfully familiar...
"What. The. Fuck"
Hi Guys! I hope you guys enjoyed this intro! It may be a little short but eh, IT'S FINE LMAO! This is my first book on here, so suggestions are very helpful! Remember to hydrate and stay safe! Happy reading!
