Chapter 8: My dead best friend, Hwang Hyunjin

The young detective's eyes fluttered open, awakening to a strange and mysterious place.

"Where am I?" Felix asked trying to keep his composure.

"Ah, you're finally awake. Humans do really sleep for long periods of time huh?" said a familiar voice.

Stepping out of the shadows was the handsome red haired demon, Hyunjin.

"You..you did say that we were gonna meet again but I wasn't expecting this soon."

"Let me get straight to the point on why you're here." said Hyunjin pacing back and forth.

He stopped pacing and made sure to have eye contact with Felix

With the eerie look in his eye, he said, "I did my own kind of research on you and it confirmed all my suspicions."

"What suspicions..?"

"You are the reason why I died."

"What kind of deal?" Seungmin asked

"I want help to create a special kind poison. In exchange, I will reveal all of my plans. But you have to let Han and Jeongin go." Changbin answered pointing at the other horned creatures.

"How do I know that they'll just run away and wreck more havoc? That ruins the point of this case." Seungmin asked.

"Here." Changbin said holding his arm out. "Put your arm next to mine. I will make a blood oath."

"WHAT?" Han shouted. "THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"

"I'm sorry but my mission is more important."

"What do you mean? Didn't we come just here to kill humans with Hyunjin?" Jeongin spoke up.

"Only you guys are here to do that, I'm here for a different purpose." said Changbin drawing a symbol on his wrist with his sharp nails. He did the same unto Seungmin's wrist.

"Ow! That hurts.." he whimpered.

"Don't be a baby, Mr. Detective."

Changbin then put his other hand on both wrists, granting a spell.

"There, I promise they won't cause anymore trouble. And if I break the promise then I'll grant you the permission to kill me."

"Okay then.."

"This is bullshit. I'm leaving." Han used a kind of power that is similar to pyrokensis and melted the lock of the cage. "I don't care about this stupid plan anymore, tell Hyunjin that he's a piece of crap."

Han jumped out the broken window.

"So let's get started shall we?"

"Huh..? I am the reason you died? What are you talking about?" asked Felix.

"I have a feeling that as soon as you found out about me, you did some research on me. You know that I'm dead and I'm just an evil spirit."

"Yeah..?"

"Let me start the story from the very beginning." said Hyunjin sitting down in front of Felix.

"I was simply a boy in highschool. I met you and we became very, very close friends. We played a lot. We were outcasts from our class, everyone thought we were weirdos who were obsessed with supernatural beings. You used to tell me all of your ideas and I would draw them. One day, a girl asked me out. I kinda liked you at the time so I wanted to go out with her to see if I could make you jealous. She took me away from you and eventually you got so jealous to the point where.."

"Where..?" Felix started trembling. The story was starting to creep him out.

Hyunjin cackled.

"You were a demon, Lee Felix, you killed me."

"What?! H-how come I don't remember any of this?!"

"Because you've been converted back into a human, and lost all your memories of that time. But look at how the tables have turned."

The blonde was in shock of the news he heard.

"So..are you gonna kill me now?"

"Nope~ I really did like you a lot Felix. I so badly wanted to see you again, that's my reason for coming to Earth. I know that you would be an investigator by the minute you hear something about devils."

"Hyunjin.."

The demon moved closer to him.

"Although your actions back then were unforgivable, I still don't hate you. That's why.." he held his finger in front of Felix's forehead.

"I'll convert you back into a demon."
