Thank you all so, SO much for going on this journey with me. I cannot express how grateful I am for you readers... each and every one of you.

I truly hope you enjoyed Matilda Matlock's story and appreciate your votes + comments, the goofy ones, AND the heartfelt compliments. They always offered me a smile. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

I hope to see your goofy comments on my other books as well. If you're interested in the rest of my works, I'll provide short summaries below: :)

Isn't He Lovely: a non-war-focused story about Eloise Baker, a Gryffindor witch with good grades and a gaggle of goofy friends... including one tall, redheaded twin. (CURRENTLY EDITING)

Thick & Thin: war-set Hogwarts features Lydia Jones, a muggle-born witch who cares less about her gifted intelligence and more about seeking adventure... perhaps in the form of a famous Gryffindor prankster. (CASTED)

The Interviewer: a post-war fanfic of American witch Jane Forrest, a 21-year-old journalist finding her next story in the recently concluded Wizarding War. Next on her interviewing list? Some Brit by the name of George Weasley.

Untouchable: a non-war focused, relatable story around Jolie (Jo) Carter, a newly-seventh-year witch feeling irked about her forced transfer and struggling to grapple with anxiety, insecurity, and fitting in. But her unique traits seem to catch the eye of über-cool, Quidditch-king Fred Weasley.

A PERSONAL NOTE ON MATILDA MATLOCK

I wanted to say one last piece on this story since it really did mean a lot to me. :)

My inspiration for Matilda Matlock was fairly simple at first; I was sitting on my bed, browsing my other fanfics when I was considering writing a war-set story... but did it have to be, again, about some witch being dragged into Harry Potter's shenanigans? Why couldn't the chaos, the exciting twists and turns, the constant misfortune, and impulsive adventures be centered around someone else? Perhaps... a girl, this time?

I obviously love the story of Harry Potter. The tiny, significant details of every aspect and the journey of his discoveries and conflicts are brilliant. I thought that by taking the same story but twisting the main character and some of the details along with it, readers could get a fun, fresh view of something familiar, but excitingly different.

Matilda Matlock was not simply going to be a gender-bent version of Harry Potter. She was to be something new; something relatable, fun, and exciting. I wanted her to catch the readers' attention with hobbies, skills, sarcastic comments and... yes... a whole lot of love life drama that she had to navigate around while still dealing with an aching scar.

The story between Ginny and Luna was one of my favorite parts of this book. I wanted it to be gradual, similarly to the canon Ron and Hermione alongside Harry, but even then, not quite as fast as them. I liked the idea of having the tough-as-nails, blunt, sarcastic Ginny be incredibly protective of a wide-eyed, soft-spoken Luna whose toughness bursts out at just the right times.

I also enjoyed writing in funny little teen-comedy style bits that contribute to a relatable, believable story about high-school-level teenagers just trying to trudge through the jungle that is puberty and social lives. I hope you liked them too: details like Harry trying to awkwardly control himself after seeing Matilda lick a lollipop, Ginny and Matilda trying to kiss and exploding with laughter at their lack of experimented attraction, and even crowds of students gathering around a courtyard to witness a surprise fist-fight between boys battling over a girl. Good stuff.

And lastly, I really hope you enjoyed the story between Matilda and Harry. I tried to construct Harry's character similar to his canon one; a funny, rather awkward, flustered teenage boy who often is trying to find the right things to say, but can get pretty damn angry when needed. I loved his protection over Matilda, and how she finally saw his true worth and loved every bit of him for it. The moment I started writing in things like his comments with her and his perked attention at someone giving her trouble, I loved their story to bits. I hope you did too.

I truly am grateful for every one of you, again. I hope you enjoyed this story and can't wait to see you intrigued readers on the next one.

You are all heroes in your own way.
