Chapter 1 -Stay awake-

It was a normal day.
My dad was driving me to school. My mom? She died when I was born, but my dad told me about her, she always made him laugh and smile, she lived in Manhattan were she worked with Darcy and her boyfriend, they did science-y stuff he didn't really understand.

I was in the back of the car. I had my light blue backpack. I wore my new plaid shirt, Jeggings (leggings and jeans) and black van shoes, I put my light brown hair up into a messy bun. And my big nerdy glasses laid on my nose. Today was just A regular day at school.

i sighed, i just wanted summer break to be here now.

"Abi?" My dad asked looking at me through the mirror in the car.
"Yeah?"
"Did you do your homework last night?" He asked.
"A bit of it...." I replied slowly.
My dad sighed and shook his head a bit. "you need to be more prepared when you do your homework Abi."
"i know, i know, yes okay dad i'm sorry, i just, i guess i fell alseep while i was reading...."

my dad looked back at the road, we turned left, we started passing threw a small town called Barker town, sometimes me and my best friend Sam would drive here with my dad or her parents and go to Starbucks. Sam had beautiful long red hair and tons of freckles on her face, (which i was jealous of ) she was the same age as me, but she was very tall for a 13 year old girl, but me? i was extremely short, sometimes i would be reminded at school by Joe our middle school bully, but i never took it to heart, i loved who i was and that was all the mattered, Sam wound always be by my side at school, she always made me laugh or smile.

Sam was one of those people where when she walked into a sad, quiet, depressing room, in less than a second, she would make it happy, exciting and bright, i was very lucky to have a best friend like her.

my dad took me out of my thoughts when he said:

"okay, just make sure that next time you finish your homework, before you take a nap." he laughed as i did.

"will do."

after that it was silent in the car so i decided to listen to music.

I fumbled through my backpack. trying to find my iPhone.

where the heck is the darn thing?

I rummaged threw by backpack until finally I pulled it out, of course it was at the bottom of my backpack.

I attached my headphones to it. and I started to listen to music, putting on 'love never felt so good' by Justin timber lake and Michael Jackson. i started to hum when it started to play.
