AUTHORS NOTE, I know Eleven stayed in California in the actual show, I've just written in that she's in Hawkins for a few days before she goes back to Cali. ;)

I woke up in the morning to birds chirping and my siblings screaming outside. I rubbed my eyes and sat up, looking out my window. It all makes sense. They're playing in the pool. I sigh, and walk out onto my balcony yelling, "CARE, STELLA BE A LITTLE QUIETER WILL YOU?" and walked back in.

I began getting ready for my first day of school at Hawkins High. I'm technically starting during the middle of the school year, but what can you do?

I straighten my black hair and leave my room. I make myself breakfast and lunch. "Bye mom, bye dad. Will you be home tonight?" I ask them politely.

"No, we have to take a business trip already. I'm leaving some money for you, it'll be in your top left dresser drawer." My mom answers. I nod and head out of the door.

I drive to school listening to my music loudly. When I pull into school I notice that everyone is either staring at me or my car. Probably both. I shut my engine down, and see Steve pull into the parking lot dropping Robin off. They must be together.

I walk into school and go to my locker. I sigh putting my things in it, only taking what I need for the day. I take note of the people around me. A redhead with headphones walks past me. She looks angry. I see that Robin is now at her locker not too far away from me.

"Hey, you free sunday?" A boy with blonde hair in a football jersey asks me. I raise my eyebrow. "What's it to you?" I ask him.

"Well I was just wondering because you're new and I'm guessing you don't have a boyfriend yet." What a douche.

I slam my locker shut and walk down the hall to my first period. I hate men in general, but I especially hate douchebags like whoever that guy was.

I sit down in the back of the class, opening a new notebook to take notes. I didn't actually end up taking notes, I just tapped my pencil on the desk and thought about work.

I pulled out of the school parking lot singing along to the music on the radio. I wonder if Robin and Steve are actually dating. I know I've seen them together a lot and they seem really comfortable together. I guess I'll find out eventually.

I pull into the video store parking lot and quickly pull my vest on. I lock my car and walk into the video store to only see Keith. "Hey, Keith!" I say happily. "Salem." Keith says rolling his eyes. Oh man that Keith. He's actually mean in a funny way, like how he insults steve.

I walk into the back to begin sorting things. I lazily pick my finger up and point to a VHS, and move it over onto its tray. When I was a toddler I was taken from an adoption home by Papa. He always treated Eleven, one of my sisters, and I better than everyone else. I honestly just think he treated us well because he knew the power we possessed.

One day I escaped, leaving my favorite sister and best friend behind. Eleven. I haven't seen her since, and for all I know she's still in that goddamn lab. I still beat myself up for leaving her, but she told me that she'd get out.

I hear the doors open in the shop and stop what I'm doing. It's Robin and Steve. Okay, definitely cannot continue doing this. I walk out and wave politely. I've always been so nice to strangers for what.

"Hey, Salem!" Steve yells happily. Okay I really don't know what I did to make him so happy to see me. "Hi.." I laugh a little. We continue working for a while before Robin and Steve go over to a wall and talk to each other about... combining? Yeah, okay let me not stay here.

"Ooh, I think I found our morning movie! Dr. Zhivago." Robin exclaims awkwardly smiling. "You know I don't do double VHS!" Steve sighs.

"Don't be lame." I pipe up, making Robin nod in agreement. "Exactly. And it's about doomed love." "Oh well that's relatable." Steve sighs. "Precisely, also-" and then Robin runs up to Steve to whisper something about someone being hot.

She walks over to the TV to turn it on, and the news pops up. Oh great, we moved to a murder town. "Holy shit." Steve says while staring at the TV. I sigh, and move behind the counter. "This is just lovely." I groan.

"What is?" Steve asks. I raise an eyebrow, "Oh you know just the fact that my family moved to a murder town. I mean how am I supposed to take care of my four siblings in this condition. Oh my god, they're home alone." I rant.

"You sound like Robin right now." Steve points out. Robin hits him upside the head. Nice. "Okay how is that even an insult?" Robin questions. "You ramble a lot." Steve mumbles. Steve then looks at my right wrist. "Hey is that a tattoo?" He asks grabbing it and pulling it towards him.

My eyes widen and I pull it back. "That's none of your concern." I snap. Steve's eyes are just as wide as mine. He knows. Shit. I back away from him carefully."9.." He whispers to himself.  "You have- you have you know the" he puts his arms out and imitates how we do things with our abilities.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I have a clear shot out of the door if I need to run.  "We know someone else who was in the lab. Don't worry we love you guys." This makes me raise my eyebrows and laugh. "You love us? Gee, thanks so much. So comforting. So you really know someone from the lab?" I ask surprised.

"Yeah I think she's here for spring break." Steve says thoughtfully. "Wait okay what are we even talking about?" Robin asks before a bunch of kids storm through the door.

"Do you guys have phones?" A short boy with very curly hair asks. He has that red head I saw earlier with him. As well as a boy with black curly hair, another boy with a brown bowl cut, and..

No. Way.
