CAROLINE CASSANDRIA DIGGORY never found out what awful act she could've committed in a past life to deserve the heart-shattering pain that was being endured. Karma had her in checkmate, every angle. Before, though, she was hardly immoral, forever failing to waver from the good side of things. She was the kind of girl who would look at the stars for hours at a time, seeing the beauty in things that others couldnt. Often times her mind was in the clouds.

Caroline was rather low on friends, her only being Cedric, her older brother. (Which counted as a friend just the same to the girl.) The two were as close as siblings could be, with Cedric attempting to teach Caroline charms whilist she pretended to watch in faux astonishment, truly gawking at the stars the whole time, striving to read her brothers future. Sure, they would bicker sometimes, just like any normal relationship, but one would always make it up with a cup of hot cocoa and a night of stories. Nevertheless, neither Diggory knew what they would do without the other.

Now, however, she was forced to figure it out. Her usually calm mind screaming, but with her mouth unmoving; stuck shut, helplessly crying out to her brother who was laying dead in the arms of Harry Potter and her father, Amos Diggory. Caroline believed she'd already been dragged through the worst years, what with having to go through the awkward stages of life, but now, knees crashed into the ground near the middle of the maze that Cedric had dreamt of coming home a champion to, seemed to have made every bad thing before this seem like a blessing.

Caroline couldnt think or breathe or feel. Her mind could faintly register her own rapid breathing and pulse, but it seemed to not be able to understand what was happening. She honestly didnt believe what was happening right before her very eyes, and she partly expected her brother to jump up and surprise her, then they would laugh for a bit, forgetting all about the hurt and the pain that she had felt just moments ago. But this, this was real. Caroline just sat their, with a blank look, her once peaceful brain unable to comprehend what was occurring directly in front of her.
