Rebecca's pov
My name is Rebecca O'Leary, I'm 11 and in the 5th grade. Recently I've moved to Tucson Arizona and I haven't started school yet, and I'm scared to go because I had so many friends at my old one like my best friends Thomas and Charlie. I didn't have any female friends tho, my mom says I should try to get some, but I always just feel so awkward around them, and in feminem clothes.
Tomorrow I'm starting school again though, I just want to back home at my old school not here where I don't know anybody, but now that Mom has married Richard we have to be here for his job.The next day:
I've woken up and now I have to get ready for school the thing I've been dreading for the past few days, but at least it's better then being here, lonely. I'll probably be just as lonely there though, I don't make friends easily.
Richard is taking me to school in his truck, he tells me he had to do the same thing when his dad got remarried, after his mom passed away. I feel like he knows what I'm feeling, the anxiety, the loneliness, and missing my old life.
When we got there he had walked me up to the front office where there was this girl about my age who had been sitting in a chair crying, while talking to someone that I believed to be one of her siblings, because they were a bit older looked like a high schooler, and looked a lot alike the girl. I felt bad for the girl, and I just had this strange feeling to go up to the girl and hug her, and for some reason I did. When I did she just looked at me, with tearful eyes.
"why d-did you do that?" She asked me."I don't know, I just felt like you needed it." I responded.
Richard was looking at me, confused because he knew I was really shy and antisocial. He was just looking confused when this lady walked up to him and asked him if he was okay, and started talking to him. They told me to go somewhere but I didn't know where, but the girl knew where and offered to help me and to go there. Which I accepted the offer because I wanted to become friends with her since she was the first person I had melt.
"M-my name is Angel." The girl said to till in tears but stopped crying.
"Well my name is Rebecca, I'm glad to meet you, I just moved here," I said to her. This was the beginning of a long friendship, and the story that we are about to begin.
