Most cookies, when they looked at Clotted Cream. They saw the Consul. He was very high in authority, no one would mess with him. Why would they? There was no need. He was perfect, mostly. He also had a bodyguard, which is probably better at sparring than what meets the eye and mind. Not everyone is perfect, though. But Clotted Cream. He was what seemed oh, so, sickeningly sweet. Even off of work, he was indeed, the same. People often worry for him, but there is no need. No need at all. He could take care of himself, and fend for himself. He WAS the Consul, after all.
Or, at least that's what everyone thought.
Everyone except for the two Ancients' bodyguards.
The two had interacted few times, with very general differences, but they did get along. The two, as bodyguards, had always looked out for "liars" in the scenario that could possibly put the Ancients in danger. Clotted Cream Cookie was no different. He often radiated a suspicious and generally untrustworthy aura. He was a bit TOO perfect. Trying to make friends with all the cookies in the Vanilla Kingdom and gaining their trust. The two were not ones to let down their guard down so easy. So they pretended, rather than letting down their walls. More was to be found out later.

Hollyberry insisted on the fact she would be fine, that she would be with her friends. That she could take care of herself. So.. he was stuck by himself. Wildberry knew she could take care of herself, he just worried of her self control. Mostly, because of the... berry juice. Wildberry sighed, as he stepped out of the dorm. His duty was to protect Hollyberry and her honor. But without that, what was he to do? He walked down the halls silently, possibly expecting something interesting to happen.
He walked out of the castle to find someone.
Crunchy Chip Cookie, was it? He was feeding his cream wolf.
Wildberry just stared, and eventually, the captain looked up.
He looked rather confused, maybe even a bit embarrassed.
"What are you staring at?" He said.
"Hollyberry Cookie is with her old friends, leaving me nothing to do. I happened to walk out here and find you."
Crunchy Chip stayed silent, clearly not knowing how to answer to the other cookie.
"I'm assuming Sir Dark Cacao said something similar?" Wildberry asked.
"Something like that, but what do you want?" Crunchy Chip said dryly. Wildberry did not actually know what he wanted. Perhaps he was trying to spark up some sort of conversation. There was something, though, he had been meaning to tell someone. Knowing Crunchy Chip would probably stay silent, he started speaking.
"Do you have a minute, perhaps?" Wildberry asked the other.
"Hm? What for?" Crunchy Chip asked back, sounding somewhat intrigued. Wildberry ushered Crunchy Chip somewhere else. The shorter other followed closely behind.

They were in an area in the garden, blue flowers surrounding the area.
"What was it you needed to say?" Crunchy Chip looked up at Wildberry, questioningly.
"It is.. about that Consul." Wildberry said in a skeptical tone. Crunchy Chip's face stiffened.
"That Consul insulted Dark Cacao and his honor. He sounded almost eager, questioning about the Grapejam Chocoblade, and the soul jam." Crunchy Chip said, sounding almost annoyed.
"That is part of what I was trying to say. He seems untrustworthy." Wildberry started. He looked behind him, almost as if he was expecting someone to be there. "I believe he is up to something. He acts too eager and sweet". Crunchy Chip tapped his finger on his chin.
"Maybe we could investigate. We are bodyguards, after all. Frankly, that means we do all that we could to protect Hollyberry and Dark Cacao." Crunchy Chip said. Wildberry nodded slowly. There was a small silence between the two.
"I can start by picking up a small conversation with him.." Wildberry spoke. Crunchy Chip nodded. "Let's get out of here before we look suspicious." Crunchy Chip said. Wildberry nodded in agreement, leaving the area. Crunchy Chip followed far behind him.

Wildberry made his way to the Consul's dorm. He stopped in front of the door. Did he really want to knock and start a whole entire conversation with Clotted Cream? He thought for a second, then knocked.

Rustling could be heard from inside the room. Then footsteps. And then the door finally budged open. Clotted Cream walked out, looking a bit weary, but immediately shifting his composure.
"Ah! Hello. It's Wildberry, I presume?" Clotted Cream said, rather enthusiastically.
Wildberry blinked "Yes, that's right."
"So what brings you here, Wildberry Cookie?" Clotted Cream continued
"Hollyberry Cookie has left with her friends leaving me not much to do."
"And.. you decided to come here?" Clotted Cream questioned
Wildberry didn't quite know how to answer. "I was roaming the castle and happened to walk past here. I decided to say hello."
"Interesting. Is protecting Hollyberry Cookie your only job?" Clotted Cream continued to question.
"Protecting Hollyberry Cookie is of high importance to me. I can do other things, if that's what you're asking." Wildberry said. He was starting to feel skeptical about Clotted Cream once again. Was there a reason he was asking so many questions?
Clotted Cream tapped his foot slightly, looking upward. "So I assume she trusts you?" Clotted Cream said, slowly. Here it goes. "She trusts me, and I trust her." Wildberry said, caustically.
"So you know about her soul jam?" Clotted Cream asked. There it was. That was where all the questions were coming from.
"I do not know much." He said, laconically.
"Ah." Clotted said. Wildberry could tell his facade was slowly breaking.
"I will leave now." Wildberry said.
"Alright then, Wildberry Cookie! Have a good night." Wildberry simply nodded and left. He was clearly up to something. He needed to tell this to Crunchy Chip.

Hi! Uh, sorry for the weak start. I'm not very good at starting stories :(
I hope this was okay! I'm sorry if it's short. Just a warning, there may be a Trigger Warning for the next chapters.
I'll try to update this I swear. Other than that, gday/night!
