BEEP
"shit." My head was pounding. Again. It was 7pm in the evening, still pretty light outside. No surprise seeing as it was the middle of August. I sat up, then stood - dizzily, I fell to the floor.
No need for coffee, wide awake now. Thanks universe.
I'd love to believe that nothing negative in my life is deserved - but karma's a bitch and she definitely loves to show herself.
I practically crawled to the bathroom, where I threw up in the toilet, then brushed my teeth to get rid of the taste. After washing my face with cold water, leaving my face frigid, I carefully stood up for the second time that morning - and managed to stay up - walking to my kitchen, making some steaming coffee to wake me up even further seeing as I fell onto my floor and splashed what I'd like to call an ice blizzard onto my face already.
Soon after I was in a suit, my volleyball jacket from high school on top ready to leave for the train station. I lived in the countryside of miyagi - yet worked in tokyo. It was a grooling hour long train ride every day to work, but then again I wouldn't have the connections, and even some friends I do today if I'd lived closer to work.
Sometimes I wasn't bothered to get a train back home though - and instead stayed at my co-worker Kuroo's apartment. I grew up with him, it's hard to think sometimes that I'm basically in charge of him, and his boss.
He met me at my stop, driving me to the warehouse. "What's new?"
"Karasuno and Seijoh got into a gang fight."
"Who won?" He looked at me with curiosity. Karasuno was and up and coming gang in Miyagi. Nekoma had been helping them for almost a year, yet still having a rivalry. We'd worked together in jobs before, and I had a pretty solid relationship with the big boss.
I smirked. "Guess."
"Seijoh by the looks of it?"
"Yep. Meaning they'll owe us for supplies we'll give 'em to help get back on their feet."
He hummed and parked a few buildings down where we were headed. His car literally screamed 'look at me, I'm a criminal.' A custom BMW that he drove everywhere. He spent some big bucks on it, probably why he treated it like his baby.
Once we got to our warehouse - not everyone was there yet. Yaku and Kai were sat at the big table in their respective seats chatting. Fukanaga and Inouka were doing what looked to be a thumb war with Lev as some sort of referee - but Tora was missing. It's almost expected that he's last to arrive every single day. He's never late though, the rest of us are just early.
He arrived eventually and we got started catching up on plans and what we're doing next.
"Tora, Yaku, Kai and Fuka, you have a big drug drop with a few lower class members, to just see over and to make sure everything goes smoothly on the twenty-fifth. Inouka and Lev, you get another smaller drop on the tenth of next month - I'll give you times and names of the others accompanying you later on a burner phone. Be sensible you two, I know what you're like."
In actuality Inouka and Lev are quite a good pair, but they're also unpredictable and can sometimes become liabilities, so it's just reassuring to tell them.
the day went on as normal, I went home - but then my doorbell rang.
"Ah- shoyo! Hey, what's up?" I let him through the door and started making two mugs of tea
"Just lost a massive amount of money, so not too good, haha!" He laughed but it was obvious he was planning a few murders.
"What? I know you lost a fight but that only counts for a bit of equipment I'd be willing to lend-"
"Whilst we were fighting with the big guys, Oikawa's goons raided our weapon supply and took like half of it. I've got a few of my own higher ups to deal with them though, so I won't worry too much."
I gave him his tea and sat with my own cup. "Classic you, what you doing? Sending Daichi and Suga?"
"And Asahi. Might get Kiyoko to go too, but I don't want to let a woman be in all that danger."
"She can hold her own, ain't she got a little apprentice now?"
"Yachi? That girls hit a jackpot with Kiyoko. At most without her help she'd be a driver for service station drops."
"Not even helping the boys? That's cold."
"True though."
I laughed. He's way too blunt, no wonder he had such a bitch with seijoh - no way Oikawa of all people would let even a little comment slide.
"What do you plan for them to do to his goons? Invite them over for tea and cake?"
He roared with laughter. It was a little inside joke we had with each-other,
"yeah, a good home made sponge." He paused for a bit. "Any plans? Got a few drinks back at mine."
"I've just got a few quick calls to make, I'd better not though, Kuroo would have to take over tomorrow, and I've got a meeting with Fukurodani's Boss and his right hand man, sorry."
"No need to apologise! One day I'll take you to a pub and we'll have a laugh, see you later!"
"I'll text!" He left the room after putting his cup in the sink.
I'll do those later.
